VCA Knightswood Animal Hospital

Robert Cussano, VMD, Associate Veterinarian

VMD, University of Pennsylvania

Dr. Cusano grew up in Levittown Pa and attended Pennsbury High School where he graduated.  He then proceeded to Delaware Valley College and received a B.S. degree in Biology.  He then pushed forward and attended the University of Pennsylvania where he received his veterinary degree.  When he's not taking care of his patients or pet parents he's enjoying cooking, following ice hockey, reading and enjoying his vacations at Myrtle Beach.

Why I do what I do:  I want to be able to make a difference in every pets life and becoming a veterinarian allows me to help them and advocate for their health.  I also really enjoy getting to know every pet owner and enjoy hearing about the stories of each one of their pets.  Loving animals is an unconditional love and you can see the love they have for their pets.

Special Note:  Dr. Cusano is such a loving veterinarian and is always going over and beyond for every pet.  He has been such an asset to our practice and we couldn't of done it without him and the care he provides to every pet.

Specialty Care

Sometimes sick or injured pets need the care of a veterinary medical specialist. When that happens, VCA specialty hospitals work closely with the general practitioner veterinarians who refer cases to us in order to provide seamless veterinary care to your pet. When your pet is facing any kind of serious illness or injury, our specialty referral hospitals will provide the compassionate and expert care your beloved pet needs.

Our goal is to make sure that when you and your pet are in need that you have access to board certified specialists who are up to date on the very latest developments in their field. In our state of the art hospitals, our specialists also have access to the most sophisticated diagnostic and treatment tools and techniques from ultrasonography and endoscopy to CAT scans and even MRI.

As part of the VCA family, we have over 83 specialty hospitals across the US and Canada which provide referral specialty care, so there may be one near you. Our specialized services include: behavior, cardiology, critical care, dentistry, dermatology, integrative medicine, internal medicine, neurology, oncology, ophthalmology, radiology, rehabilitation, reproduction, and surgery.
