  A couple of years ago my cat suddenly fell ill. She started vomiting 2 to 4 times a day. We took her to VCA Kaneohe Hospital where we met Dr. Sakamoto. I have to testify that Dr. Sakamoto was the perfect doctor not only for our cat but also for my wife and I. Over the next month, our doctor relentlessly worked on “Baby” our dear cat. Dr. Sakamoto helped to ease our concerns by treating our pet as if it was one of her own.
  
  The ordeal of our cat being sick was extremely stressful. We thought we were going to lose Baby. With the tremendous leadership, skill and personal care that Dr. Sakamoto gave us and Baby, we were able to have Baby healthy again!
  
  We would like to thank the team of selfless staffs who also gave us invaluable support.

  VCA has a wonderful group of caring vets

  When our regular vet decided to close his solo practice and join VCA, and later moved to the mainland, we worried that we were going to lose the level of care and the personal relationship we valued so highly.
  
  Not to worry. With nine cats, we were soon knew most of the VCA vets and staff, and the advantages of the larger practice became obvious. When possible, we make appointments in advance and are able to see our new favorite vet. And the larger staff is more able to respond quickly to emergencies because they are open longer hours daily, including evenings seven days a week, and offer ready access to more specialized treatments and services.
  
  When Leo, one of our feline family, suffered a urinary blockage and then a ruptured bladder several years ago, VCA was able to rush him into emergency surgery, updating us through the course of the day by phone on his condition. He survived, and they joined us in celebrating. And when, just recently, he suffered something akin to a stroke and was left paralyzed, they were there at 6 a.m. to begin emergency diagnosis and treatment. Our favorite vet stayed with him, and with us, the whole way, as we first explored possible treatments and then, when it became clear that he could not recover, helping us through the goodbyes. She stayed with us when he had to be euthanized, and shared the hugs and tears.
  
  We have come to trust VCA with our pet’s lives and they've lived up to that trust at every point. What more could you ask?

A special thank you goes out to Dr. Ann Sakamoto who helped us through a difficult period when our dog 'Maggie' passed away 3 years ago after a bout with cancer.

  Dr. Ann Sakamoto is a wonderful professional and has a great concern for all pets. She has taken exemplary care of our family's pets. We always feel that Dr. Sakamoto and the VCA Kaneohe staff treat our pets like they are part of their family. When one of our pets is ill, Dr. Sakamoto makes every effort to calm our fears while treating our pet in a gentle loving manner. She answers any questions that we have in person or by phone and always makes time for our pets needs. We are extremely grateful to Dr. Sakamoto and the staff at VCA Kaneohe Animal Hospital for providing our pets with quality care.

  Ann Sakamoto has been our trusted vet and friend for more than eight years. She has provided excellent care for our cats and guided us through many high-anxiety (for us) situations and difficult decisions with exceptional professionalism, sensitivity, and kindness. Dr. Sakamoto treats us and our animals with respect; she listens to and patiently answers our (many) questions, and she doesn’t hesitate to say “I don’t know” and do some research to find an answer to a tough one. Her dedication and creative thinking have helped us give our cats the highest possible quality of life.
