Overview
At VCA Kaneohe Animal Hospital we work every day to cure and manage all types of pet disease and health issues. And while VCA veterinarians are skilled at diagnosing and treating disease, prevention is the cornerstone for pet health. When pets receive quality preventive care throughout their lives, the incidence and severity of disease can be kept to a minimum.
We know how much your furry friend means to you-we feel the same way. That's why with your vigilance and our expertise, together, we can help give your pet the long, healthy, happy life he or she deserves! Our current special offer can help you get on the right prevention track, and as always, if you have any questions about your pet's health or well-being, contact VCA Kaneohe Animal Hospital to discuss.

Hundreds of threats, one solution: prevent disease. Your VCA team can help!
There are some pet health issues that we can see coming way before they present serious problems:
Older pets should visit their veterinarian at least twice a year for preventive care. Dogs and cats age four-to five times faster than we do, and their health problems can progress more rapidly as a result.
There is a link between heart disease your and pet's dental health. Tooth loss and infections are easy to prevent, but leave them untreated and you may find your pet in serious health trouble. Ask us to schedule a dental exam for your pet, especially if he or she is over the age of 7.
A good nutritional program is incredibly important. Obesity is linked to all kinds of health problems, from diabetes to arthritis. But it's relatively simple to prevent obesity related ailments. We can give you great advice on healthful foods as well as a safe exercise recommendation for your pet. See how easy that is?
Parasites present a full range of potential health problems-some of which can be highly dangerous, such as heartworms. But we know exactly what parasite prevention is appropriate to your locality and your pet. Often a simple treatment given once a month will keep your pet blissfully parasite free!
Vaccinations are also key to preventing disease. Regular visits to your veterinary hospital for vaccinations (Parvovirus, Distemper, Leptospirosis and Rabies for dogs; Panleukopenia, respiratory viruses and Rabies for cats) will go a long way toward preventing these diseases in your pets.
Another disease that can be prevented with vaccination is the Canine Flu. Yes, your dog can get the flu too! However, with a vaccine you can protect him against the sickness.
Now through March 31st we are helping you keep your pets disease free. Visit us during our Preventive Care Clinic hours and get 50% off vaccinations when you pay for a regular exam. Book your Preventive Care Clinic appointment today!
