Ira S. Niedweske, DVM, Medical Director

Biography

Dr. Niedweske is a resident of Edison and was born and raised in Westfield. He graduated from Delaware Valley College in Doylestown, Pa. in 1974 with A Bachelor of Science degree in biology. He then went on to the Ohio State University, College of Veterinary Medicine and graduated in 1977 with a DVM Degree and a Master of Science degree in reproductive physiology. Dr. Niedweske is the past president of the Metropolitan NJ Veterinary Medical Association. He has also been the Small Animal Chairman of Continuing Education for the New Jersey Veterinary Medical Association’s annual meeting, the Atlantic Coast Veterinary Conference and the Metropolitan NJ Veterinary Medical Association’s many meetings. Dr. Niedweske is currently the president of the Central Jersey Veterinary Emergency Service and is serving on the Governor’s Committee for Animal Welfare Reform. He has also received an Outstanding Service Award from the Union County Freeholders for his work with the Union County Sheriff’s Canine Unit. Dr. Niedweske's interests include soft tissue and orthopedics, and avian and exotic medicine.
