VCA Imperial Point Animal Hospital

Lara Wiseman, DVM, Associate Veterinarian

DVM, University of Florida

Dr. Wiseman always knew that she wanted to be a veterinarian and started working at a South Florida practice as a volunteer at just 11 years old. She worked as a technician throughout high school before leaving for the northeast and completing her undergraduate degree in Biology and Chemistry at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Wiseman then attended the University of Florida to study veterinary medicine and graduated with honors - Go Gators! Upon graduation, she was recognized by the American College of Veterinary Radiology for excellence in her clinical studies. Dr. Wiseman completed an intensive internship at Hollywood Animal Hospital before joining Imperial Point Animal Hospital. Her special interests lie in radiology and surgery and she is a member of both the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) and the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA). Outside of veterinary medicine, she enjoys reading, traveling and spending time outdoors - hiking, biking and diving - with her husband Jake. They also like just spending time on the couch with a good movie and their four-legged family. They have Samurai, an English Setter and Oliver, a Terrier mix, both rescues and very spoiled. Why: There is the easy answer- it's a given that every Veterinarian loves animals. But even more I have always enjoyed science and medicine and I love the relationships that I build with owners and their pets. Every day I come to work, there is a chance that I will make a huge and positive impact in the lives of my patients and their parents. It's a perfect blend of my interests and I am SO LUCKY that I get to do this every day.
