Nancy has been employed at the hospital since 1975. She worked as a veterinary technician making sure the patients and doctors were well taken care of until 2006. She then became the Hospital Manager, focusing on the needs of our clients, staff and the over all performance of the hospital.
Human Resources ManagerKeri Schaefer
School: University of Central Florida, Bachelors of Exceptional Education
Keri received her bachelors degree from the University of Central Florida in Exceptional Education in 2000. In June 2005 she joined the family business as the Human Resource Manager. Keri enjoys running,going to the beach, and most of all spending time with her husband and three children.
Inventory ManagerMary Ann Bragg, 1988
Joining our team in 1988 as a Technician for Dr. Larry Dee, MaryAnn gained a firm awareness of the needs of our practice. In 1992 she took on the role of Purchasing and has been relied on ever since to keep our practice prepared for everything, at all times. In addition, she plays a significant role in our relationship with the local K9 Police Departments’ scheduling and care. While assisting in appointment scheduling and the maintenance of department specific supplies she also organized continuing education classes for their human partners.
MaryAnn spends her off time taking long trips with her husband and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Administrative AssistantDenise Sam
Denise began her employment at our hospital in 1993 as a receptionist and phone operator. Because of her strong work ethic and ‘can do’ attitude she was quickly asked to support our accounts receivable department. As our practice progressed, Denise was trained to facilitate even more of our accounting and reporting needs and now runs our Account-Receivable department.
When not crunching numbers at the VCA HAH; Denise enjoys walking the beach and simply spending time with her family.

School: Florida State University, Bachelor of Science/Nursing
Barbara graduated from Florida State University with a degree in Nursing. Having grown up working at the VCA HAH, she returned in 2007 to the family business. Her duties are accounting and administrative. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family, fishing and kayaking.
