-Laura and John White from Reston, VA
    Pet Name: Snibbits

"We want to thank you so much for all of the wonderful care you gave our precious Snibbits! We were so touched by the card you all signed, and by the donation you made to the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine. It's so comforting to know that this will benefit the Veterinary Memorial Fund and aid in their research.

Thank you again for everything you've done for all of our cats!"

  • Our Tough Old Girl

-Kenneth Cottrell from Great Falls, VA
    Pet Name: Misty

The Cottrell family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks at the care that you and your staff provided our dog Misty. We know that the surgery took several hours, but you still took the time to personally call when it was completed late on a Friday night. The pre and post-operative care VCA Herndon-Reston Animal Hospital provided was remarkable, and we have no doubt that Misty could not have been in better hands. Our "tough old girl" as you liked to refer to her could not have done it without you.

We commend you and your staff, and wish you continued success and many more happy outcomes." - May 29, 2009

  • Journey Back in Time

-Janet Jung Doyle from Manassas, VA
Pet Name: Goldie, Nikki and Major - deceased

My golden retriever (Goldie) was very likely one of Dr. Michaels' first patients in 1975. I remember the wonderful care that he provided along with Aunt Blanche and the office staff. Goldie lived to be 14 but developed liver cancer in her last days. Since the practice was small at the time, Dr. Michaels called in an imaging specialist so that I could be certain that nothing else could be done for her as death is irrevocable. When I decided that I could not allow Goldie to suffer any longer, Dr. Michaels gave me some time with her before he came in to do what needed to be done. I remember crying and when I looked back at him after it was over I saw that he was crying too. That was nearly 40 years ago but I remember his caring as if it was yesterday. I came in numerous times to try to pay my bill for Goldie's treatment. It was 4 weeks before Dr. Michaels could open her folder to calculate the charges. Besides his enormous heart I remember that he always gave women a chance at a time when it was still a man's practice. All of the women veterinarians, technicians and office staff were exceptional. In closing, I will use one of his famous lines, "and we'll say" that he is the finest and dearest vet that I have ever had the pleasure to know. Thank you, Dr. Michaels.

  • I'm Thrilled.

    -Lydia Hawkins from Reston, VA
    Pet Name: Susie

Pet Image I just got back home from VCA Animal Hospital in Herndon, VA. I went there wanting to compare with my other Vet. I couldn't wait to tell my boyfriend and our Puppies "daddy" all about it, because the care was awesome, and the price was really good as well. From the moment I walked it the girls at the front desk were very nice, it took almost no time at all for us to get called back, where a very nice assistant took my dogs temp, and asked a few questions. Shortly after Dr. Piola came in and checked over my dog told me what the problems where or could be, answered all of my questions, and just gave great general advice. Dr. Piola was really thorough, informative, and super friendly! At the end of it all another assistant came to get me to show me how to properly clean out my pups ears. Needless to say, my experience was fantastic. I want to Thank everyone there for being so friendly and helpful. I would recommend this Vet to anybody. They also didn't charge me an Arm and a Leg. Thanks
