Licensed Veterinary TechnicianJessica Maynard
Veterinary Tech School: Bel Rae
Welcome, my name is Jessica.
I am a 2001 graduate of Bel Rae and a Licensed Veterinary Technician. Prior to joining the VCA Herndon Reston team in July 2008, I owned and managed a horse breeding business.
If you were to ask me WHY I went in to the veterinary profession I would say, "I love animals and taking care of them as well as the science behind what I do!"
Here are a few things that you may not know about me:
1. I love classice Hollywood movies & broadway.
2. I am involved with community theater.
3. I love to sing, dance, and act or perform.
4. I love to ride and take care of horses.
Katie Joined the VCA Herndon Reston Animal Hospital team in May 2015. Katie shares her role as a technician with our sister hospital VCA University in Fairfax. Katie enjoys educating clients and helping the team with treatments and procedures. She loves the veterinary field because she loves helping animals and nurturing the human/animal bond. Her current companions are Fluffy, Max, Yani, and Niko. She loves big dogs despite the fact that she has always owned small breeds. Her favorite cat breed is a Siamese mix. Outside of work, Katie enjoys volunteering with the Lost Dog and Cat Rescue Foundation as a "Dog Ambassador". If you were to ask Katie "WHY" she chose veterinary medicine, she would say "I truly enjoy helping our four-legged friends and the special bond between our clients and patients."
