Kathleen McCadden, DVM, Doctor of Oriental Medicine
Prior to VCA, Dr. McCadden was a research assistant for the University of Maryland. She worked for 5 years as a relief associate veterinarian for various small animal practices with 3 years in Vermont. She has worked as a relief veterinarian with interests in Chinese veterinary medicine and acupuncture with small and large animals for the last 4 years. She joined the VCA family in May 2012. Her love for geriatric animals plays an integral part in the hospital. Dr. McCadden provides a medical enhancement to western veterinary medicine by practicing acupuncture and Chinese medicine not only on geriatric pets but all pets. She provides owners with hope and enhanced medical support to traditional treatments to improve thier pets quality of life. Dr. McCadden joined the veterinary profession because she was drawn to the profession through her time as a volunteer in an animal shelter. Her current animal companions are Lakota:a husky mix, Neeka: a husky mix, Sharq: a husky,Stryder: a shepherd mix and Rudy & Bubbles: DSH cats. Dr. McCadden has a love for the Siberian Husky and breeds of the hound family. Her interests outside of the hospital are hiking, camping, kayaking, swimming, photography, traveling/exploring new places, snow!, music and spending time with her family.
