New to VCA?

In addition to the routine veterinary care we provide for your pet, we also offer such advanced services as orthopedic surgery for bone and joint problems. Our doctors can perform extensive dental services and oral surgery, incorporating a digital dental X-ray machine and dental unit similar to the one found in you own dentist's office. We would be more than happy to implant a HomeAgain microchip for permanent pet identification and to reduce the panic and tragedy involved with a lost pet. We offer a carefully monitored intensive-care area for emergency situations as well as a separate isolation ward for contagious cases. We are also equipped with up-to-date, in-house diagnostic instrumentation, thus ensuring that all in-house diagnostics are completed on the same day as submission. Other capabilities include digital radiology, electrocardiography, ultrasound, acupuncture and laser therapy to name a few. If your pet requires a procedure beyond our level of expertise, we can offer a referral to a variety of veterinary specialists.

Our doctors and technicians regularly attend continuing education seminars in order to always remain on the cutting edge of veterinary medicine. In fact, we accumulate more continuing education credits than is required for state licensing! We are fortunate to have five certified technicians on staff, which is complemented by a well-trained support staff of receptionists and veterinary assistants. Certified technicians have completed two years of technical training at a licensed school and have then passed a state-sponsored board examination. Given our close proximity to the University of Illinois Veterinary College and Parkland Community College, many of our support staff are currently attending veterinary or technician school.

A lifetime of wonderful care
Grace Giorgio from Atwood

The decision to make Central Illinois our permanent home became easier when I realized that my cats Malchik and Sukha would have Dr. Dust as their vet for the rest of their lives. We met Dr. Dust and VCA Heritage in 1995 when I came here for graduate school. His caring approach to Sukha and Malchik and thoughtful and patient explanations over the years have made me and my cats know we are in the right hands. I can't say they like getting in their cat carriers, but once they are in Dr. Dust's hands they are calm and receptive to his attention. At 16 years old, they are doing well thanks to a lifetime of wonderful care!
