Dr. Laux was born and grew up in a suburb of New York City. She enjoyed horseback riding as a child and showed horses on the hunter circuit. She attended undergraduate at Bucknell University in Lewisberg, PA and received a bachelors of science degree in cell biology and biochemestry. She rode on the Equestrian team during her undergrad. She then attended Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine. After graduating she did an equine internship in Rhinebeck, NY. She then practiced equine medicine for one year in Illinois before deciding to change to companion animal medicine and surgery. She still enjoys horseback riding and hiking with her husband and dog in her spare time.
