Veterinary Tech School: Becker College
Amy has been an employee at VCA Hanson since July, 2001. Her passion for the veterinary industry began in childhood, and she carried it to Becker College, where she graduated from in 2001. Shortly thereafter, Amy became certified as a veterinary technician. At work, her special interests include preparing patients for surgery and caring for them post-operation. Amy enjoys music, attending concerts, rollerblading and sewing in her spare time. She lives in Rockland with her dog LC, who accompanies Amy on swims and hikes.
Veterinary Tech School: Penn Foster
Jenna joined the VCA team as an intern in April of 2011 and shortly after began her career at VCA Hanson within the kennel. She graduated in 2011 from Norwell High School and is currently enrolled in a Veterinary Technician program through Penn Foster. After years of training, she is now a fully trained Veterinary Technician. Jenna has one dog, Bailey, and two cats of her own, Beautiful and Lucas.
A technician at VCA Hanson since 2004, Sarah graduated from Whitman-Hanson Regional High School and currently resides in Hanson. At home she has a Lab mix named Bella. Along with her duties as a technician, Sarah also works on some of our hospital purchasing and our VCA Hanson website.
Growing up on a small farm in Duxbury, Elissa shared her childhood with all types of animals, including cows, horses, goats, dogs and cats. She learned early on that the veterinary industry was the place for her. Elissa's special interests at VCA Hanson include working with exotic animals, assisting with surgery, and helping people care for their pets. She shares her home with a her dog Fender.
School: Penn Foster Education
Kaitlyn is a graduate of Marshfield High School and currently studying Veterinary Technology through Penn Foster Education. At a young age she realized her passion for the veterinary field as she would play veterinarian with her own pets. Growing up she volunteered at her local shelter and always enjoyed fostering animals in need. Kate has a passion for learning and is never afraid to try something new. Some hobbies of hers include motocross, horseback riding and spending quality time with her daughter who also has a passion for animals. Kate's favorite part at VCA Hanson is working with animals of all kinds as she especially loves exotics, reptiles in particular. Kate has two pets of her own, a dog name Apollo and her cat, Biggie Smalls.
Shannon has been an employee at VCA Hanson since July of 2007. She grew up locally and graduated from Whitman-Hanson High School. Shannon left the nursing field to work with animals and now shares her home with two cats and a french bull dog named Fergie, all of whom she rescued. Outside of work she spends the majority of her time with family.
Megan graduated from Whitman-Hanson Regional High School and is now working towards her Liberal Arts degree with a focus in Sociology at UMass Dartmouth. She has been a member of the VCA team since 2005 starting as a Kennel Technician and eventually working her way up to a Veterinary Technician. Her special interests are exotics as she enjoys working with reptiles the most. Outside of work she likes to spend time with her family and friends. She shares her home with her dog, Chance and her cats, Bella, Pheobe, and Zoe. She also has a turtle named Tonka who she rescued after Tonka had been hit by a car. Tonka's back legs have been replaced by wheels which doesn't seem to phase her at all.
Jasmine began working at VCA Hanson in October of 2014. After graduating from Bridgewater Raynham High School in 2010, she began studying Science at Massasoit and received her associates degree in 2013. She has 3 cats of her own, Katniss, Primrose, and Oliver Jr. (Fluffy). Along with her own, she also fosters various kittens and is currently fostering a senior cat, 20 years of age, named Effie! Outside of work, Jasmine enjoys playing percussion with the Bridgewater State University Wind Ensemble. With all of her passion and dedication to animals, she makes such an important asset to our team here at VCA Hanson Animal Hospital.
