Local Medical Issues

There are numerous local medical issues that can impact your pet's health, and that require your attention over the entire year. For example, intestinal parasites affect both cats and dogs, and can harm their human companions as well. Our pets can acquire these parasites by eating bugs, small prey, and being exposed to sites visited by other animals, like pet parks and backyards visited by wildlife. Because our climate is temperate, this is a year-round concern. We advocate checking for intestinal parasites at least once a year, and monthly prevention. Another year-round issue for our region includes allergies, which can show up as ear infections, itchy skin, and hair loss. We can assess your pet for intestinal parasites and allergic symptoms, and develop a management plan with you to keep them healthy and feeling their best all year through.

Accreditations & Affiliations
American Animal Hospital Association

The American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) sets the standard for quality veterinary care for companion animals. As an accredited hospital, we voluntarily uphold the Association's high standards in 18 different areas and are routinely evaluated on over 900 different standards of veterinary care. Not all animal hospitals are accredited, and we are proud to be amongst only 12-15% of veterinary hospitals that hold this honor.
