VCA Fort Worth Animal Medical Center

Jason Doolittle, DVM, Staff Veterinarian

DVM, Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine

Hello, my name is Jason. I graduated in 2005 from Ross University after completing my clinical year at the University of Minnesota, which was quite a change for guy from California. After two years of general practice in the Twin Cities, I was accepted for a one year directed internship in emergency and critical care at Animal Emergency Center and Specialty Services in Glendale, Wisconsin.

Following my internship, my wife, Rebecca, and I moved back to Minnesota when she was accepted to the University of Minnesota Dental School. Over the next four years, I worked in a general small animal practice while doing part-time work at the emergency clinic in the area. Most recently in 2012, I created the urgent care team as Chief of Staff in a veterinary hospital with extended hours. While I enjoy all aspects of veterinary medicine, I am especially interested in fluid resuscitation, pain management, and trauma.

My other accomplishments include speaking at IVECCS in 2010 on the subject of oral trauma and emergencies. I’ve also written two papers: Oral Trauma and Emergencies and Osteomyelitis Secondary to Listeria monocytogenes.

We now have a 2-year-old son, Dallin, and another boy is due in late September. Two cats at home complete our household.
