Biography
Dr. Long hails from the Great State of Tennessee originally. Feeling the need to experience other cultures and see remote and changing places on the planet, she left her job in software sales in 2000 to travel for 13 months. Along the way she was indellibly imprinted with the stories of the people she met, and found herself especially touched by the plight of the animals she saw. Somewhere in the Nepalese Himalayas she vowed to return to school to become a veterinarian. While she often finds end-of-life situations heart-wrenching, she considers herself blessed to be called upon as a trusted advisor to families during difficult times. Dr. Long�s family includes her husband and travel partner, Wiley, their five year-old son, Wiley IV, their dog, Pancake, and their three cats, W.A.S., Sneaky, and Sidh. Away from the clinic she enjoys skiing, running, hiking, backpacking, and traveling to far-off places.
