    Sarah Fritz

I grew up in the Black Hills of South Dakota.  I moved to Nevada eight years ago.  I have been with VCA Feline Medical Center for seven years.  Needless to say, living in Nevada has been an adjustment for me.  I love the outdoors!  Give me a lake surrounded by pine trees and I'm a happy girl.  I've been married for two years, and am looking forward to starting a family.  I have two spoiled cats, Alfie and Blackie, who have me wrapped around their little paws.  Cats have always been a big part of my life, which is why I love what I do.  I am here to ensure that each and every cat is given the love, attention, and nursing care it needs and deserves.

  • Licensed Veterinary Technician

    Amber Nawaz
    Veterinary Tech School: Carrington College

Hello!  My name is Amber and I grew up in Lodi, CA.  I moved to Sparks, Nevada in August 2013 to pursue a career in the Veterinary Technician world.  So far I love my job and I love this town.

I graduated from Carrington College in Stockton, CA in January 2013.  In July I passed the California exam to become a RVT.  I am currently working on becoming a RVT in Nevada.

As much as I love working with small animals, my long term goal is to work with horses and other large animals.

    Shannon Glasser
    School: University of Nevada Reno

I was born in Canton, Ohio, and moved pretty much every two years of my life, but I consider myself "from" Tennessee.  I came to Reno, Nevada to attend UNR and decided to make my home here after gradutation.  I came to work for VCA Feline Medical Center as a Veterinary Assistant about a year ago and have found a wonderful family of co-workers here at this little clinic!  And, of course, it's truly awesome to be in a feline only practice and to work with beautiful cats all day long.

The main reason I chose to stay in Reno is for the numerous outdoor activities available in this area.  I love to camp, hike, kayak and visit Lake Tahoe as often as possible.  I am also the proud mommy of one 14 year old tabby cat named Ally.  Ally is my best little friend and I'm happy to say her health is fantastic due to the great care she receives here at VCA Feline Medical Center!

  • Veterinary Assistant

    Sidney Jenkins

Hello all, my name is Sidney Jenkins I'm a veterinary assistant here at VCA and here's a little about myself:

I was born in the small town of Winnemucca, NV but was raised all over the West Coast. I discovered my passion for animals when I was just a little girl and wanted to do something to help so when I grew up and graduated high school I moved to Boise, Idaho to pursue my childhood dreams and begin my job as a receptionist/vet assistant. Luckily two years later I ended up back home in good ol' Reno, Nevada with a fantastic job here at VCA feline medical center :)

    Jared Julson

As a young man I grew up in a large and loving family who surrounded me with many different animals.  This has helped fuel my love for all living things, hence my career path in veterinary medicine.  As an army brat, I grew up all over the country from South Carolina to Hawaii. This allowed me to experience many different walks of life, as well as develop a strong structure to follow.

I started my career at San Francisco Veterinary Specialists, where I  assisted in dermatology, oncology, holistic medicine, ophthalmology, and general medicine. Now, almost a decade later, I am at VCA Feline Medical Center, and still loving the field.

In my free time I attend TMCC in hopes I will attain my Bachelors in Science and then move to a four year college.  I also spend my time doing multi-media art including graphic design, painting, drawing and sculpting.  Between art, school and work, I manage to find time for a social life, snowboarding, fishing, rafting and motorcycle riding..

I hope this gives an insight  into the person caring for your beloved feline family members while they are at VCA Feline Medical Center.

    Rachel Miller

I have always loved animals since I was a very young child.  I'm fairly certain I was born loving animals actually.  As a kid, I always preferred playing with my stuffed animals above all else, and begged my mom for more pets throughout my entire childhood.  As a result of this, I have had pets and worked with them for almost my entire life.

I began working as a veterinary technician in 2009, when I started at a feline-only clinic in Salt Lake City, Utah.  I have been hooked ever since!  I just love being in a job where I can work so hands-on with animals to help them feel better.

In my spare time, I love hiking, running, and spending time with my pets.  I am currently owned by three awesome dogs and two wonderful cats.
