I grew up in the Black Hills of South Dakota. Needless to say moving to Nevada has been an adjustment for me. I have been with VCA Feline Medical Center for 9+ years. I love the outdoors! Give me a lake surrounded by pine trees and I'm a happy girl. My husband and I had our first child recently. Watching her grow and learn is the most rewarding and amazing thing I have ever experienced. I just love being a Mommy. I have two spoiled cats, Alfie and Bonzo, who have me wrapped around their little paws. Cats have always been a big part of my life, which is why I love what I do so much!. I am here to ensure that each and every cat is given the love, attention, and nursing care it needs and deserves.

Hello! My name is Amber and I grew up in Lodi, CA. I moved to Sparks, Nevada in August 2013 to pursue a career in the Veterinary Technician world. So far I love my job and I love this town.
I graduated from Carrington College in Stockton, CA in January 2013. In July I passed the California exam to become a RVT. I am currently working on becoming a RVT in Nevada.
As much as I love working with small animals, my long term goal is to work with horses and other large animals.

I was raised in the small town of Gardnerville, Nevada. In high school I was very involved in FFA and have always loved being around all types of animals, especially horses. In my free time I love to be outside! There are several great trails where I live that are great for hiking and riding. I also love traveling and have lived in Alaska and Montana. I have a variety of animals at home that include three very spoiled cats named Elsa, Oslo and Oliver. They definitely keep life interesting with the assortment of "gifts" they bring me! I've always had cats growing up and they are a big part of the reason I love working at VCA Feline Medical Center. Veterinary medicine has always interested me and I am currently attending TMCC for the Vet Tech program where my goal is to become a LVT.

As a young man I grew up in a large and loving family who surrounded me with many different animals. This has helped fuel my love for all living things, hence my career path in veterinary medicine. As an army brat, I grew up all over the country from South Carolina to Hawaii. This allowed me to experience many different walks of life, as well as develop a strong structure to follow.
I started my career at San Francisco Veterinary Specialists, where I assisted in dermatology, oncology, holistic medicine, ophthalmology, and general medicine. Now, almost a decade later, I am at VCA Feline Medical Center, and still loving the field.
In my free time I attend TMCC in hopes I will attain my Bachelors in Science and then move to a four year college. I also spend my time doing multi-media art including graphic design, painting, drawing and sculpting. Between art, school and work, I manage to find time for a social life, snowboarding, fishing, rafting and motorcycle riding..
I hope this gives an insight into the person caring for your beloved feline family members while they are at VCA Feline Medical Center.

I was born and raised right here in the Reno/Sparks area and attended Reed High School. I then went on to do my undergrad at the University of Arizona in Tucson, AZ where I graduated with a BS in Veterinary Science. I'm working here because I love cats and want more experience working with them. I'm looking to apply to and attend Vet School in the next year or two, so not only is working here fun, but it will also help me get to where I want to be. Eventually I hope to be a fully certified Veterinarian, possibly working in a shelter!
