VCA Feline Medical Center is located in the beautiful Caughlin Ranch Community of Reno, on the corner of Caughlin Parkway and W. McCarran Blvd (89519).  Our two doctor, full service medical facility is open six days a week and provides comprehensive preventative wellness care, exams, vaccines, routine and advanced dentistry, surgery and digital radiology.  We also provide a safe and comfortable boarding facility and offer grooming services.  Our caring and skilled staff provide well and sick pet services for cats and kittens, adults and seniors.  We carry Hill's Science Diet and Prescription Diets, Royal Canin Therapeutic Feline Diets and a variety of treats.  We invite you to visit our 2880 sq.ft. hospital for a tour and to meet our staff and veterinarians.  Together we strive as a team to develop a diagnosis and sensible treatment plan for each patient's health care issues.

VCA Feline Medical Center (VCA FMC) was established in 1995 as Reno’s first and Northern Nevada’s premier cat exclusive veterinary hospital. Pursing his passion for all cats, Scott A. Thompson DVM sold his two prior veterinary hospitals in Redding California for one simple reason, “I no longer felt comfortable bringing my own cats to my own hospitals because of the barking dogs!” Dr. Scott A. Thompson selected the Caughlin Ranch Shopping Center  facility to bring his now 32 years of Veterinary practice experience to Reno.

The American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) sets the standard for quality veterinary care for companion animals. As an accredited hospital, we voluntarily uphold the Association's high standards in 18 different areas and are routinely evaluated on over 900 different standards of veterinary care. Not all animal hospitals are accredited, and we are proud to be amongst only 12-15% of veterinary hospitals that hold this honor.
