Julie Gauthier
Staff Veterinarian DVM

Dr. Gauthier (pronounced "go-T-A") grew up in Fairbanks, Alaska, and obtained her bachelors degree in biology at the University of Alaska. She then moved to the Twin Cities and went to the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine, where she earned her Veterinary degree in 1992. She met her husband in 1995, and they welcomed their son in 2002. They had five cats for many years, and currently have a Siberian Husky named Willow, and an orange tabby cat that came to them at age six with the name Buster.

She has treated primarily cats and dogs throughout her career, and happily joined the team at VCA Feist in 2023. The most enjoyable parts of veterinary medicine for her are working with our team to educate people about how to care for their pets' health needs, doing surgery, solving complicated medical issues, and also seeing happy pets, especially when we know we've done our part to keep or make them happy and healthy.

Her favorite free time activities over the years have been acting, stand-up comedy, singing, and improv. She also enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and container gardening.
