    Darlene Furness
    Veterinary Tech School: State University of New York at Delhi

    Darlene joined the VCA team in 2015. She graduated from State University of New York at Delhi with an associates degree in veterinary technology. She enjoys reading, the outdoors, and traveling. She is married and shares her home with two kids, two dogs, five cats, and several fish. She has been in the veterinary field for more than twenty-five years.

    "I find it very rewarding to work with and be a part of a family as I watch their animal grow from a puppy into an adult while helping to make them well again. Helping owners and pets and watching their bond is why I get up and go to work every day. Working for VCA has given me the opportunity to nurture those bonds and work with some amazing individuals on a daily basis."

    Tiffany Liu

    Tiffany joined the VCA team in July 2012. She grew up in Hong Kong in an animal loving family with all kinds of furry siblings. She moved to Georgia in 1998. During college she acquired her own personal pets and her interest in animals grew stronger. After receiving her Bachelors degree in Bio-Chemistry from UGA in 2006, she decided to study Veterinary Technology at Gwinnett Technical College. She graduated in 2012 as a Licensed Veterinary Technician.

    "I love my pets as my children. This gave me the motivation to study in Veterinary Technology. Now I work as a Registered Veterinary Technician to use what I learned to provide profession care to pets. I also like to teach pet owners how to provide the best for their pets. VCA Falcon Village Animal Hospital is a good place to work and I love being a part of this good team."

    Marie St George
    Veterinary Tech School: Bel-Rea Institute of Animal Technology

    Marie started with the VCA family at VCA Wingate Animal Hospital in Denver, CO. She transferred to VCA Falcon Village Animal Hospital in September 2011. Marie earned her Associate of Applied Science degree at Bel-Rea Institute of Animal Technology in 2009. Marie was born and raised in Southern California and has always had a passion for helping animals. She has worked with various dog rescue groups as well as taking in her own rescued pets. Marie and her husband currently share their home with 7 cats and 3 dogs.

    "Growing up, I was one of those kids who wanted to help every animal I found. I helped many stray and wild animals in my life and always asked my parents "Can I keep it?" I love my job because it's hands on with the pets and I'm able to help those who cannot speak for themselves"

  • Veterinary Assistant

    Katelyn Bender

    Katelyn joined the VCA team in 2014. She is currently a junior enrolled at the University of North Georgia with a major in biology and pre-veterinary school. She enjoys photography, riding horses, and going to the lake. She shares her home with two beagles and two horses. She is affectionately nicknamed “Boots” because she is almost always seen wearing brown cowgirl boots.


    "Working with animals is my passion. I love animals and want to help them be healthy or help them recover which is why I plan on attending veterinary school in the near future. I do what I do because it is a calling and everything about working with animals and their families is a rewarding experience for me."

  • Veterinary Assistant

    William Cannon

    William joined the VCA team in February 2014. He has a waggish sense of humor and enjoys hiking, biking, reading fantasy novels, going to the gun range, and playing table top games with friends. He shares his home with a convivial dog named Roudi, pronounced "Rowdy,: who answers to Roo, Roo Roo, Roody, and Rowdy. He knows how to sit, stay, and lay down. He can also lick and shake but not on command.

    "Working with animals has increased my compassion and patience for people. I empathize with pet owners the fact that a pet is an extension of oneself. Keeping patients healthy, helping the sick get healthy and stay healthy is our goal. I look forward to continuing to care for the pets that come in to our clinic while I learn more about veterinary medicine."

    Becca Harper

    Becca joined the VCA team in 2016. She graduated from North Georgia College & State University with an associates in music in 2001. She enjoys baking, reading, and watching her kids play little league baseball. Becca is married and has two children.


    "I enjoy my job because I like to know that I’m helping and the VCA team gives me that opportunity in an environment that feels like a larger, wonderful family. It is very important to me that I am the voice for the animals that cannot speak for themselves."

    Mike Venable

    Mike joined the VCA team in 2014. He enjoys staying at home and enjoying the lake with his 3 dogs. Mike has 20 years of experience with many types of animals.

    "I love watching a pet grow over their lifetime. The bond between an owner and their pet is strong and something I understand first hand. I have 3 dogs named Chili, Dewy and Rio, 2 of which are rescues. I also love having a relationship with the owners, I am here to help them with anything they may need with their pet. We have the same goal, which is a happy and healthy pet."
