Welcome to Our Hospital
Your pet's health is our top priority!VCA Everett Animal Hospital has been serving our community since 2000. We are committed to providing you and your pet with the best customer service and medical knowledge possible. We take pride in the way we care for you and your pet. VCA Everett is an American Animal Hospital Association-accredited hospital, which is a goal that most animal hospitals strive to achieve. By being AAHA-accredited, we are voluntarily inspected in the following areas: client service, anesthesia, medical records, pain management, patient care, surgery, safety, and many other areas. The reason for our accreditation is so that we ensure that we are providing the best possible care to your pet.
Our furry family grew in November 2008 when we merged with the Revere-Winthrop Veterinary Clinic. Since November 5, 2008, Dr. Thomas Murtha has been practicing full time at VCA Everett Animal Hospital. Both Dr. Murtha and his clients have been received with open arms from the staff and doctors at VCA Everett. We look forward to providing them the same standard of care that has been practiced for almost a decade.
Local Medical Issues
Here at VCA Everett Animal Hospital, prevention is key!It is very important that your pet be kept on a heartworm preventative and a flea and tick controller year-round. Fleas, ticks, and mosquitoes can affect our pets year-round if the conditions are right. VCA Everett Animal Hospital stocks the medications that your pet needs.
Outdoor pets have a higher risk of developing a heartworm infection, but indoor dogs and cats can become infected as well. Mosquitoes can enter your home through open windows, doors, or cracks. In several studies, one-third of infected cats were indoor only. Monthly heartworm prevention not only addresses heartworms, but many intestinal parasites as well.
Fleas and ticks, while being a pest to your pets, can pose a health risk to both you and your pet. Fleas carry tapeworm larvae, which your pet can ingest. Ticks can transmit diseases such as Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever and Lyme disease to both pets and humans. The veterinarians at VCA Everett Animal Hospital will recommend a treatment that is specific to your pet based on where you live, your daily activities, and any pre-existing medical conditions.
With summer here, it is important that we control as much as we can regarding our pet's health. Fleas, ticks, and moquitoes may not seem like such a problem, but it is the diseases they can transmit that is the concern. Ask our vets what can be done to protect your pet today.
