  • Baby George

-Beth Jacobs from North East, MD
    Pet Name: Baby George

Our cat, Baby George, was 20 years old. We woke on a Saturday morning and realized that that he was in distress. We call VCA and they took us immediately (although we were not clients) and professionally and calmly helped us through our decision. While I cried through the process, the vet and tech so kindly took care of Baby George. Even the billing was handled in such a thoughtful manner. It was a tough morning, but the people at this hospital could not have done more. We are very grateful.

  • They made a hard day a little bit easier

    -Cora from Elkton, MD
    Pet Name: Ellie

After a wonderful 5 years with dog, Ellie, my family had to make the difficult decision to put her in a foster home so that someone else may adopt and enjoy her. Before we could take her to the rescue she had to be updated with shots and an exam--something I didn't know until the last minute. Ellie has terrible anxiety and I knew taking her would be challenging. Dr. Bennington was very understanding of my situation and fit her in during a very busy day. Not only were we in the office an hour past closing, Dr. B and Jessica were amazing. They were very patient with Ellie and myself through what can only be described as a less than ideal situation. Shortly after our difficult visit I took Ellie to the shelter with a very tearful goodbye. Dr. Bennington and Jessica were wonderful beyond words. Even through the exhaustion and frustration, when all was said and done they both had a smile on their face and wished me luck. I can not do enough to thank them for making one of the hardest days of my life a little bit easier.

  • You saved Bella's life

    -Rebeca Reyes from Elkton, MD
    Pet Name: Bella

Pet Image VCA Elkton saved my puppy Bella's life yesterday. She was really sick, not eating or drinking water or barely moving, yet throwing up so much she was tearing up the lining in her stomach. I called everywhere I could think of in Delaware (where I live) and no one had any openings to see her. The only offer I got was from the SPCA to euthanize her for $150. :( She's a 7 month old Newfoundland/Pit mix and I wasn't going to give up on her that easy. On my way to Elkton (where I work) my last chance was to call VCA Elkton and they told me to come in immediately. They took such good care of me and my Bella, even though I couldn't afford too much. Within 24 hours, my sweetie is slowly coming around and I can see signs of life in her that were fading so quickly yesterday. I am eternally grateful. I didn't realize how much I loved this puppy until I almost lost her. Thank you for saving my baby's life. :)

  • Outstanding Care

    -Terri Koldus from Elkton, MD

I have used VCA Elkton for the past 10+ years. I have always been very pleased with the care that my animals have received. Dr. Bennington and her staff have always been extremely helpful and courteous. Recently I called on Dr. Bennington and her staff to euthanize my ailing lab. During the extremely stressful and emotional time, the team acted with the utmost compassion and professionalism. I can't say enough about the care that we have received.

  • Angels

    -Amy Pollack from Elkton, MD
    Pet Name: Barney

Pet Image I chose VCA Elkton Animal Hospital because I was new to the area and it was the closest one to my new home.
What a choice I made! At my first visit everyone was so cheerful and friendly. As the months went by my dog became very ill with cancer. After only a few months of knowing everyone at the office their love and concern for my dog as well as my family was evident.
Unfortunately my dog got very sick very quickly and the only humane thing to do was to help nature along and put him to sleep. I called and left a message in the middle of the night, telling them I would be there as soon as they opened in the morning if my dog made it through the night. I was there ten minutes after they opened. My chart was out and the Doctor and techs were already in the room getting things setup for us.
My brother and I were given as much time as we needed alone with our dog. We were with him almost a half an hour. When it was time to give him the injection, the sadness from Dr. Bennington as well as Kiesha, Joanna and every one else in the office was pure and genuine. I received the utmost respect and compassion from these people that only new my dog and my family for a very short time.
The outpouring of compassion in the days and weeks after my dog had passed was overwhelming to me.
I believe that they went above and beyond their work "call of duty".
The Doctors and staff at this facility are truly angels on earth.

  • Russell

-Traci and Skip Wilson from Elkton, MD

On July 1st, we stopped in to visit my mom and dad with our Jack Russell Terrier, Russell. He loves to chase his basketball there but we forgot about the rusty horseshoe spike that was sticking up out of the ground. Russell hit it with his right side. The top of the spike grabbed his skin and ripped it. It ripped in a u-shape about the size of a man's palm. Thankfully, the VCA Elkton Animal Hospital was right around the corner. We wrapped him in a towel and took him in. Within five minutes they had him in the back checking him out. Dr. Bennington was on duty and she was wonderful! She was so calm and confident. The staff was great in calming us down and assuring us he would be alright. Dr. Bennington had to sedate him clean the wound good and he had to have twenty-one stitches with a drain. I can't praise her enough for her work. He never got an infection and he healed so nice. After a month, you can hardly notice the scar with his hair growing back in. The staff and Dr. Bennington called us regularly and had us come in every couple days to check him. Our Jack Russell is back to normal, thanks to VCA Elkton Animal Hospital! Skip, Traci, and Russell Wilson

  • VCA Elkton

-Amy Fields from North East, MD

I have used VCA Elkton for the past five years and have been pleased with my experiences. The staff has always been kind, knowledgeable, and considerate of myself and my animals. I have always been able to get an appointment when my pet needed immediate care

  • Katie

-Fernando and Victoria Pombeiro from Elkton, MD

We have nothing but the highest praise for Dr. Bennington. During a routine examination, she found a tiny lump in our dog's mammary gland and recommended a biopsy. The tumor proved to be malignant, which was extremely stressful and upsetting, but thanks to Dr. Bennington it was caught very early. She came in on her day off to take care of Katie so that we wouldn't have to worry over the weekend, and continually followed up with the surgeon at UPenn to check on Katie's results. All the staff at VCA have been great with us - they all know Katie and check in with us to find out how she's doing. Thanks to Dr. Bennington's vigilance, Katie will likely live a long and happy life and we are very grateful to her and to all the staff at VCA Elkton.
