Jessica joined the VCA East Colonial family in May 2013 as a Receptionist but her true calling has always been to work directly with the pets and helping them. So in December 2013 she was moved over to the Technician side of the hospital. Jessica was born and raised in Orlando, Fl. As a teenager she would go to Puerto Rico to visit family every summer and while there she volunteered at a Veterinary Clinic. She is currently attending Valencia with the goal of becoming a Veterinarian.

" I am so excited to be able to work with animals. Making that connection with clients makes my day. Hearing funny stories about someones pet, or the inspiring stories of how they rescued their companions is what makes me happy. coming to work and seeing the faces of the pets that come in, and seeing their owners, reassures me that I am exactly where I want to be. I come to work everyday to learn, to serve, and to make a difference. "

I grew up in Miami, FL. My mom is a nurse so the hospital environment was always comfortable to me, but there was never a doubt that my calling was to work with animals. During my high school years, I volunteered a number of animal hospitals and received my Certification as a vet assistant. I attended Miami-Dade college and graduated with an AA in Biology , while working full time for 4 years as a vet technician at a small animal and exotics pet hospital. I moved to Orlando in 2014 to complete my undergraduate degree at UCF and continue my path to becoming a veterinarian. I Found my place at VCA E. Colonial Animal Hospital in April 2015.

Growing up, my household always had pets. My pets meant and still mean the world to me. The opportunity to connect with people who feel the same way about their pets and treating them as my own, there’s just nothing more satisfying. Everyday I get to work in a place where I can surround myself with a strong love for animals, people and the art of medicine. It’s not only about changing animals lives, but peoples as well. I get to work with a team that motivates me and inspires me and we learn from each other. There’s nowhere I’d rather be.”
