Caring for pets... and their people, too.

Our AAHA-accredited hospital has a proud history of being the oldest veterinary hospital in Berks County.  We are proud to be serving the following communities: Bern, Birdsboro, Cumru, Exeter, Kenhorst, Lower Alsace, Mohnton, Mount Penn, Robeson, Schillington, Sinking Spring, Wernersville, West Reading and Wyomissing.  Our warm and friendly staff excels in providing the best in veterinary care as well as in treating each pet as if it were our own.

In addition to caring for your pets in times of medical need, our staff is committed to preventive health care for our patients. Important components of preventive health care include wellness exams and blood work, vaccinations, parasite prevention and nutrition. Ask us about your preventive health care options at your next visit!

We perform laser surgery which allows a faster recovery time for your pet by reducing bleeding, swelling and discomfort.

I would like to profoundly thank Dr’s Fuhrman & Barnett along with the whole staff for the care of my dog Gus. Gus was in a car accident and the office has bent over backwards to assist me & my family get Gus back to health. The skin on his paw was scraped down to the bone and with their perseverance it has grown back, a lot faster than they expected. Proof of their great healing ability! VCA Detweiler has always been our vet for our dogs but this particular team (Doctors, Assistants, Office Manager & Receptionist) are outstanding!!! Again I want to thank everyone. Sincerely, Charles Powe & Gus.
