Technician SupervisorSheila Wharton, LVT
Veterinary Tech School: CSN
I began my Veterinary career in 1989 as a Kennel Assistant, and became a Licensed Veterinary Technician in 1999. I've been a part of the VCA family since 2003 as a Techician Supervisor. I've always wanted to work with animals since I was a little girl and feel very lucky to be able to have a job that allows me to do what I love and as an added bonus I get to work with awesome people and have relationships with clients and their four legged family members. I spend my free time with my husband and our VERY spoiled cat Termite .

I have been part of the VCA team since 2008. I enjoy my job here at VCA Decatur because I learn something new everyday. The light of my day comes from talking to clients. I have a Bernese Mountain Dog named Mikki, in my spare time I enjoy horseback riding.

I was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA. (GO DODGERS!!!!) Ever since I was a little girl, I knew I wanted to work with animals so my house was always a ZOO and luckily I had very understanding parents who understood my love for animals. It wasn't till I attended college that my Veterinary career began. I began volunteering at a small animal hospital in Monterey Park, CA while I worked at USC school of Pharmacy doing Research. I also did a Summer internship at US Davis School of Veterinary Medicine where I was able to work hands on in the different areas of the Veterinary School. After 9 wonderful years at the Veterinary Hospital, I moved my way up the ranks to Hospital Administrator. But in 2005, my husband and I decided to move to Las Vegas and I began working for VCA Hospitals in 2011. As for my free time, I enjoy spending it with my husband & my son and of course, with all my furry critters which include 4 cats, 2 dogs, 5 parakeets and 2 Desert Tortoises.
