• A Close Call

  After my 14-year old chihuahua mix suffered almost fatal wounds from a vicious dog fight, Dr. Berkowitz performed emergency surgery on Alex - which clearly saved his life. He took the time to first diagnose the extent of the injuries and then was willing to operate on Alex. He was optimistic Alex would survive, despite the odds, and then even offered to bring him to another facility for 24-hour care that Alex needed. Alex went back to Davis Animal Hospital for additional treatment and care - and Dr. Berkowitz and the staff attended to his every need, ensuring a bright prognosis as Alex began healing. Given his advanced age, his heart condition, the brutal injuries he sustained and subsequent surgery, Alex has made a remarkable recovery, to which I credit Dr. Berkowitz. His time, patience, compassion, knowledge and instinct have rendered him a hero! From simple boarding to critical care, Dr. Berkowitz and his staff deserve a debt of gratitude for providing the best place to bring your pet under any circumstances.

  Dr. Berkowitz has been taking care of my family (dog & cats) since he was with County Animal Clinic when he moved on to Davis Animal Hospital we followed.   Amazing Pet Care

  The staff at Davis Animal Hospital is amazing. Dr. Berkowitz has always provided our 17 year old cat Brooklyn with the best care and TLC, and when she needed emergency eye surgery last week, he found out about the need that morning, amazingly carved the time out and performed her surgery that very afternoon. Not only did he do an amazing job and give her back great quality of life, but he, Dr. Gordon and the staff were amazing to us, spending as much time and providing as much information and support to us as we needed throughout the process, which was so helpful (and needed!). I recommend Dr. Berkowitz and Davis as a practice wholeheartedly and appreciate all they have done for Brooklyn (and me) over the years. Alexa Wilensky

  High Quality Health Care

  The reason we have our 13 1/2 year old Corgi with us today is because of the excellent care he is receiving from VCA Davis Animal Hospital. Skipper has faced two major surgeries over the last 2 years and we have received knowledgeable, compassionate advice and guidance in determining the best course of action for him. Most recently Dr. Berkowitz and Dr. Kittrell diagnosed a serious medical condition and got our pet the immediate help he needed.
  
  The staff at the hospital are helpful, friendly and truly care about the pet's well-being. The hospital hours are also very convenient.

  We would like to express our deep appreciation for the emergency medical care we received for our 7 month old corgi, Casey. We rushed him to your hospital with a serious undiagnosed condition and the team of Dr. Kotwal, Dr. Gordon and Omar quickly took action processing blood work and making an informed evaluation. They also helped facilitate the additional care he required from another hospital. Dr. Gordon consulted with the specialist each day and followed up on Casey's progress with us. We are sure our pup recovered so quickly due to this team effort. Once again, as in the past, VCA Davis has come through for us. This is the place to go to get knowledgeable, compassionate health care for your beloved pet. The entire staff is excellent and truly care. We highly recommend them.

  I have been going to Davis since 1967. Three dogs later I am still pleased with the excellent care and caring! All the doctors and staff go the extra mile and are truly professionals. Randi is especially crazy about Evan. When I had to board Randi because of my medical condition I remember Evan saying he would take care of Randi as he was his own dog. Who can ask for anything more! ?

  Superb care

  Our 12-year-old dog has had serious medical issues over the years and the staff of Davis has always been caring, thoughtful, and has provided the finest service. When options were available they were offered and discussed and the costs were outlined without my asking. All calls were returned promptly and follow-up calls were made just to check in.
  The most recent care has been provided by Dr. Triplett, and I only wish our family physicians were as attentive! The staff at the desk (Trish and Laura are the wonderful women I know by name) and those behind the scenes care both for the animals and the humans who are scared!
  The best recommendation comes from our dog, Megabyte. She enters the building with her tail wagging and goes straight behind the desk to greet her friends!
