About Our Hospital

Dr. Bob Nizlek, Medical Director of VCA Davis, is a board-eligible surgeon who completed a surgical residency at Tufts Veterinary School in 1986. He, along with our board-certified internist, Dr. Eric Linnetz, DVM, create a culture of learning and the highest standard of veterinary care possible. Daily rounds include not only the doctors but also all members of our medical team and are a wonderful forum in which to learn and broaden skill sets.

Our 50+-year-old practice is housed in a newly-renovated, 7500 sq. ft. facility that includes a state-of-the-art surgical suite; ultrasound room; dental area; 80 cage kennel with separate cat ward; quiet, modern doctor offices and a handsome reception area. We are renown in the Greenwich/Stamford Connecticut area and are relied upon by many of the surrounding veterinarians as a trustworthy facility where they can refer their orthopedic and complicated internal cases.

All of this technology however, doesn't interfere with the “old time” values that started this practice years ago. While sipping a fresh brewed cup of coffee, clients sit with doctors to discuss their patients' care and are educated on their pets’ care by our highly trained staff. Two foreign educated veterinarians lead our expert technical team. Our practice manager is a graduate of the VMI Veterinary Management School at Purdue University. VCA Davis Animal Hospital is AAHA-accredited.

In addition to the traditional services you'd expect at an animal hospital, we also have many speciialized services.

We have 24 hour care for our hospitalized and boarding patients.

We perform both routine and advanced surgical procedures including orthopedic and laproscopitc procedures.

We have internal medicine specialists to perform ultrasounds and consult on medical cases.

We have advance diagnostic and monitoring equipement such as EKG, Ultrasound and Digital Radiography.

We have a large full service boarding facility with large dog runs and plush kitty condos. You can add special ammenities such leash walks, ice cream treats and spa packages to customize your pets stay. If your pet has special medical requirements call us to discuss the special care we can provide to your furry friend.

VCA Davis Animal Hospital is located on the edge of world famous Greenwich, Connecticut—only 45 minutes from New York City and accessible by Amtrak train. Interstate 95, a major North/ South thoroughfare, is just 3 minutes away by car. The surrounding countryside is crisscrossed with stonewalls dating to colonial times and lovely ocean harbors. Our reputation and service have established us as a landmark in the community.

Davis Animal hospital is 5 doctors strong. Our 32-member team includes highly skilled surgical technicians, room attendants, veterinary assistants, receptionists and kennel help allowing us to provide 24-hour care for our patients. Our loyal clientele is often comprised of whole generations of families: grandparents, their children and their children still.

The essential quality of each of our staff members is a love for animals and a strong respect for client care. We have no problem selecting team members who have less experience in the field if they can demonstrate that they can bring these two qualities with them to work each day.

We are busy center of animal care. You will find us in the kennel grooming and bathing; in the treatment area prepping patients for surgery, endoscopy or ultrasonography; in the reception area where we process nearly 100 invoices daily; in the laboratory where we are operating our in-house diagnostic machinery; in our dental area using our digital radiograph; or in the our newly renovated doctors' office area where we are conferring with one another or speaking to our clients on the phone or over the internet.
