    Melissa was born and raised in the Chicago area, and moved with her family to Colorado in 1996. She has a degree in Human Development and Family Studies from Colorado State University. She lives with her husband and their adorable adopted pets: Freckles the Catahoula Leopard dog, Autumn the calico cat, Clover the orange tabby, and Brennen and Gary (her special needs kittens) . Melissa enjoys hiking and backpacking, rock climbing, and spending time with family and friends.
