Gina Tonti
Registered Veterinary Technician
Gina Tonti
Veterinary Tech School: Western Career College
School: University of California, Berkeley, BA
Gina has always had a great love of animals and has had many pets growing up. While her friends were getting after-school jobs babysitting, she was the neighborhood pet-sitter. Gina developed a soft spot for rabbits in particular, and has had at least one rabbit living with her since she was very young.
Gina started working for VCA Cottage Animal Hospital in June, 2006 and LOVES it here! Before working for Cottage, she was a client here. She always loved how well the staff treated her as a client, and her pets as patients, and she decided this was the kind of place she wanted to work. Of course, everyone here was very welcoming and receptive to her joining the team.
Gina graduated from UC Berkeley in 2002 with a BA degree in English, hoping to become a teacher, but life is unpredictable and clearly had other plans. Gina went back to school in 2006 to work on becoming a Veterinary Technician; she graduated from Western Career College in 2008 and sat for the RVT License later that year. Gina continues to enjoy the field and enjoys meeting and helping so many wonderful people and pets.
Home is not much different than work for Gina. She has nine animal "children:" three cats, four rabbits, a tortoise, and a duck. Thankfully, Gina's husband is also an animal lover! Aside from tending to her "herd," she enjoys reading, writing, photography, and music, as well as many outdoor activities such as hiking and snowboarding. -
