Biography

"If aliens saw us walking our dogs and picking up their poop, who would they think was in charge".

From a young age Dr. Brianna Letaw loved animals, which stirred her passion for veterinary medicine. This would be the driving force that ultimately leads Dr. Letaw to her current position as associate veterinarian at VCA Cornerstone Animal Hospital. Her professional interests center on small animal surgery , oncology and patient's quality of life. She also started volunteering for a local organization Wags4tags that rescue dogs from kill shelters and trains them for veteran's with PTSD and traumatic brain injuries.

Growing up in Apex, North Carolina, NC State University was a perfect fit for Dr. Letaw's undergraduate program. In 2008, she received her bachelor's degree with a major in animal science and double minors in nutrition and genetics. She then went on to achieve her DVM in 2012 from NCSU College of Veterinary Medicine. While attending undergrad, she started working at VCA Cornerstone Animal Hospital filling nearly every position in the hospital throughout her 6 years of employment.

After graduating Dr. Letaw found work in Pensacola, Florida using her new skills to improve the quality of animal care amongst her patients. Along with learning how to manage a continuously large case load, Dr. Letaw excels in communication going above and beyond for clients, patients and coworkers.

When not at work, Dr. Letaw spends time enjoying music, outdoor sports and the beach. She lives with her husband Josh, their dogs; Stoops and Gracie and two cats; Ellie and Finn.
