    Jackie Andes
Veterinary Tech School: Vet Tech Institute in Pittsburg

I graduated from the Vet Tech Institute, in Pittsburg, Pa in 2008 with an Associates Degree.  I have worked at VCA Conewago since 2008.  I did my externship here at Conewago and when it was over they welcomed me with open arms.

A few years later I had my son, who is now 3 years old.  He enjoys animals just as much as I do.  We have 3 cats.  In our spare time we like to spend time outside and go on new adventures.

    Why I LOVE my job:

I love being an advocate for our patients.  They look to us for help.  There's nothing more rewarding then being able to help pet owner and their loved ones!

    Andrea Brown

I have been a veterinary technician for 10 years and have worked at VCA Conewago Animal Hospital for the past 3 years. Growing up I had a lot of animals so it seemed natural for me to work with them.

Working at VCA Conewago Animal Hospital has been a rewarding experience. The long standing clients and staff are really great to work with. It is nice to be around people who care about animals just as much as me. To me nothing beats a wagging tail or a purring cat greeting me.

I have two dogs named Dasher and Lenny. I have two cats named Zeke and Zoe. Outside of work I enjoy traveling, golfing, and spending time with my fiancé and pets.

    Rebecca Dougherty
    School: Harcum College

I grew up on a 50 acre farm in York County.  We had chickens, goats, 4 Husky dogs, lots of cats and a Shetland Pony.  I was always bringing home hurt bunnies or little birds and trying to help them.  I got a degree in Broadcasting. from the Pennsylvania College of Technology, but I did not like the sterile radio environment, and started working part time on a horse farm.  I decided to go back to school and I got a degree in Equine Science from Harcum College.  My dad's health was declining, and careers in the horse world were slim in York County at that time, so I accepted a job as a small animal veterinary technician.  I realized I really liked helping dogs, cats and pocket pets.  I enjoy educating pet owners on the importance of veterinary care.  I've been doing it ever since and I love how rewarding it is!

    Tanya Garrett

I was born and raised in Maryland and moved to Codorus, PA in 2010. In kindergarten I became a vegetarian, and have been ever since. I went to college for AutoCAD, but quickly realized it was not my dream job. I began working PT at a large boarding facility and became manager 1 month later. Three years later, I had my beautiful daughter and took time off. When it was time to go back to the real world, I was hired at a Veterinarian hospital, and have never looked back.

My family includes my husband, daughter, stepson, 1 dog and 6 cats. We enjoy camping and of course, the beach. We do enjoy the mountains in the fall.

    WHY I love my job:
I have never worked with a better team. Everyone here at VCA Conewago are genuinely in this field to do what is best for pets. There is compassion and dedication with every team member, which makes it much easier to come to work everyday.

I love being able to see a sick pet come in one day, and to see they are "back to themselves" at a recheck appointment. I enjoy educating clients about why our services and products are so important to the well-being of their four legged family members.
