Biography
Dr. Nehring grew up in the foothills of the Smoky Mountains in Tennessee. She received her Bachelors degrees in Chemistry and in Legal Studies from the University of California at Santa Cruz, her PhD in Chemistry from the University of Washington in Seattle, and her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine (mixed animal) from the University of Minnesota in the Twin Cities.
Dr. Nehring joined the VCA family several years ago and is our current Medical Director. Her special interests include surgery, medical imaging, comparative medicine, feline medicine, and lifespan medicine. She especially enjoys working with senior pets. She has previously worked with emergency, mixed animal, exotics, wildlife, feline exclusive,
and several humane organization clinics.
She is a member of the Georgia Carolina Veterinary Medical Association, Georgia Veterinary Medical Association, American Veterinary Medical Association, Humane Society Veterinary Medical Association, the American Association of Feline Practitioners, and the local YMCA.
Dr. Nehring currently lives in Martinez with her husband, two children, and four cats. She enjoys being outdoors, yoga, music, art, and family activities.
