Mirela C.
School: University of Massachusetts - Amherst, BS in Animal Science
Mirela's passion and love for animals started while helping on her aunt's farm in Bosnia as a little girl. On the farm, she helped care for a variety of domestic animals ranging from goats, sheep, chickens, geese, swine, dogs and cats. After immigrating to the United States with her family, she attended UMass Amherst, and majored in Animal Science. She plans to attend veterinary school. Her primary focus is feline and ruminant medicine. Her other interests include arts and crafts, photography, reading, biking and hiking. She is the proud owner of two canine rescues: Seamus and Verni (pictures coming soon to our photo gallery).

Veterinary Assistant
Jess W.
School: Texas Tech University, Veterinary Assistant
Jess grew up owning a wide variety of animals including cats, dogs, birds, and horses. Her love of all types of animals drew her to the veterinary field and influenced her to focus her studies on Animal Science at Texas Tech University. While at Texas Tech, she was a member of the polo team, horse judging team, and the Army ROTC. Originally from the Boston area, Jess decided to move home from Texas in order to pursue her veterinary career. She has an extensive equine background and still enjoys spending time at the barn in her spare time. Jess hopes to gain her CVT in the near future and looks forward to her career working with animals. Although Jess currently does not own any pets, she hopes to own some in the near future! She enjoys riding her motorcycle, wakeboarding, and cheering on the Bruins, Red Sox, and Texas Tech Red Raiders!
