VCA Cheshire Animal Hospital

About Our Hospital

Our team of veterinarians, technicians and support staff strive to provide exceptional care for our patients and clients. We excel at staying on top of the latest advances in medicine and providing compassionate and progressive nursing care. The general practice is made up of a group of wonderful veterinarians with many years of experience, dedicated to their patients and medicine. We, as a group, strive to perfect our communication with the referral community as well as our general practice clients. We are very community-oriented and provide service to our local fire and police departments.

The surgical staff is comprised of a board-certified surgeon, surgical resident and three dedicated surgical technicians. This team provides consultation, soft tissue, orthopedic and laparoscopic surgery daily. Our surgeon and resident lecture locally as well as nationally. Our hospital has a close relationship with a local physical therapy facility that provides advanced therapy techniques and equipment.

We have a CT scan onsite, with radiologist review within 12-24 hours. Ultrasounds can be performed in-house daily. A boarded radiologist is on-site twice weekly to perform ultrasound as well as radiographic review.

We have rotating intern-trained and criticality/emergency trained doctors on staff daily to focus on our critically ill patients and emergencies. Veterinarians and critical nursing technicians are on staff 24 hours a day, seven days a week. We are able to provide a continuous monitoring, as well as testing, for almost all emergency situations.

About Cheshire, CT

VCA Cheshire is located in picturesque, small town suburbia, surrounded by a residential community of approximately 29,000. Rolling hills, horse farms, ponds and rivers surround our area with a nature preserve a 15 minute walk away. It is not uncommon to see several species of wildlife in our back yard. Geographically, we are located in south central Connecticut, approximately 25 miles south of Hartford, 89 miles from New York and 30 minutes from the coast. Our location provides us with the opportunity to enjoy multiple casinos, beaches, cultural, historical and outdoor activities year round. Although our community is strongly tied to family, with the major cities close by, the night life has endless possibilities.
