  • Licensed Veterinary Technician

    Kaori O'Neill
Veterinary Tech School: Baker Community College

Hi, my name is Kaori (pronounced like Cody). I graduated from Baker Community College's Veterinary Technician's program in June of 2006, and became licensed immediately thereafter.   I enjoy working with animals and the people here at VCA Cherry Bend Animal Hospital.

I married my best friend, Dan, in 1999 and moved here with him from Japan. We have a German Shepherd dog, "Nechan" (means sister in Japanese)

Outside of work, I enjoy road cycling and mountain biking. I am very fortunate to have a job here at VCA Cherry Bend Animal Hospital and to have a bike trail right next to the clinic!

I thoroughly enjoy my job as a licensed veterinary technician at VCA Cherry Bend Animal Hospital. I have lived in the Traverse Bay area for a long time. My interest in animals goes way back.  Along with being a LVT I am also involved in 4H.  Most recently I rescued an awesome little dog named Jorja.  Jorja joins my 3 rescue cats, Darth, Serena and Lilly.  Not to mention two goats, Tate and Willow.

  • Veterinary Assistant

    Rebecca Haskins

My name is Rebecca.  I have worked at VCA Cherry Bend Animal Hospital since September 2004.  I have attended Baker College and studied Veterinary Technology.  Since joining the  Cherry Bend team I have adopted two cats and one dog.   The kitties names are Orion and Eragon.  Hope is my dog.  Since 2005 I have been the Hospital Pet Nutritional Advocate.  As a Pet Nutrition Advocate I stay up to date on prescription and over the counter pet foods.  In April of 2009, I traveled to Kansas to tour the Hill's Pet Nutrition Center and canning food plant.  I was able to see the research center for Hill's pet foods and learned so much.

  • Veterinary Assistant

    Shanna Paison

I started working at VCA Cherry Bend Animal Hospital in July of 2000 as a veterinary assistant.  I also work as a receptionist at the front desk.

Since starting at VCA Cherry Bend Animal Hospital I have rescued many animals.  Currently I have 2 cats.  A tiger cat named McMonster and an exotic shorthair named Paris.  We recently added a human baby to our family.  His name is Owen and he was born on 11-12-13.

I am so lucky to get to do what I love for a living.  I really enjoy seeing all of our patients and their parents.  Cherry Bend has become my second family.

  • Veterinary Assistant

    Amber Scheidel

I started working at VCA Cherry Bend Animal Hospital as a high school student in June of 1999.  This was my first job.  I fell in love with the hospital and the staff.

Cherry Bend is my second home.  I have grown up here.  Cats and dogs have always been a special part of my life.  I adopted an elderly cocker spaniel from a client that could no longer care for her.  Most recently I lost my lab/boxer mix in December of 2013.  I am looking forward to my next pet.  Pet sitting is something I like to do in my spare time.  Pets 24/7 is how I like it!
