VCA Cherry Bend Animal Hospital

  • Hospital Manager

    Julie Berry

I have been working at VCA Cherry Bend Animal Hospital since July 2004 as a receptionist.  In June of 2013 I became the hospital manager.  I am originally from Cheboygan until moving to Traverse City in 1999 when my husband and I opened a successful paintball business. My pets include 2 awesome Labrador Retrievers. Gryphon is a 9 yr old chocolate, and Gary is a 7 yr old black lab. They are our children and we would not have it any other way. Working at Cherry Bend has been a great experience and every day is filled with new challenges.  I am proud to have such an excellent team to lead every day.

  • Business Manager, Boarding and Daycare

    Heather Johnson

I began working at VCA Cherry Bend Animal Hospital in November of 2012 as a weekend Kennel Technician. A year and a half later the Doggy Daycare Manager position opened up and I jumped at the opportunity. I have grown up with dogs since the day I was born. I have loved each and everyone that have been in my life. I feel blessed to have the opportunity to be slobbered on daily! I currently have four dogs that are lab mixes and rescues: Bogey, Miley Rae, Ruba Jean, and most recently, a blind puppy named Finn. Finn is thriving and is able to attend Doggy Daycare with me everyday to play with his best buddies!

I am a Traverse City native and live with my husband Mark and my two teenagers, Mary and Jacob. In addition we have a blended family with my husbands three grown children that live downstate and a three year old granddaughter.

Specialty Care

Sometimes sick or injured pets need the care of a veterinary medical specialist. When that happens, VCA specialty hospitals work closely with the general practitioner veterinarians who refer cases to us in order to provide seamless veterinary care to your pet. When your pet is facing any kind of serious illness or injury, our specialty referral hospitals will provide the compassionate and expert care your beloved pet needs.

Our goal is to make sure that when you and your pet are in need that you have access to board certified specialists who are up to date on the very latest developments in their field. In our state of the art hospitals, our specialists also have access to the most sophisticated diagnostic and treatment tools and techniques from ultrasonography and endoscopy to CAT scans and even MRI.

As part of the VCA family, we have over 83 specialty hospitals across the US and Canada which provide referral specialty care, so there may be one near you.
