VCA Central Park Animal Hospital

Dr. Jessica Carbonell, DVM, Associate Veterinarian

DVM, University of Tennessee

Dr. Jessica Carbonell is a South Florida native, born and raised. She received a Bachelor's degree in Biology at Florida Atlantic University and then traveled north to pursue her degree in Veterinary medicine at the University of Tennessee. Dr. Carbonell is happily married with one young son, and another bump on the way! She has a full house at home, including four dogs: "Bailey", "Moka", "Sierra", and "Yonah".

"The reason I chose this profession is because of my combined interest in science, medicine, and love for animals. When I was young we always had a house full of animals. I loved their intelligence and loyalty, however when they were sick or hurt I felt helpless as a child. I admired our Veterinarian for taking such good care of them and at that point I knew I wanted to do the same. Now I realize how important of a role I play in educating people on how to keep their pets healthy and comforting those when it's time to let go."

Specialty Care

Sometimes sick or injured pets need the care of a veterinary medical specialist. When that happens, VCA specialty hospitals work closely with the general practitioner veterinarians who refer cases to us in order to provide seamless veterinary care to your pet. When your pet is facing any kind of serious illness or injury, our specialty referral hospitals will provide the compassionate and expert care your beloved pet needs.

Our goal is to make sure that when you and your pet are in need that you have access to board certified specialists who are up to date on the very latest developments in their field. In our state of the art hospitals, our specialists also have access to the most sophisticated diagnostic and treatment tools and techniques from ultrasonography and endoscopy to CAT scans and even MRI.

As part of the VCA family, we have over 83 specialty hospitals across the US and Canada which provide referral specialty care, so there may be one near you.
