Katie grew up in Metairie and has been working at VCA Causeway Animal Hospital for six years as a groomer assistant in the grooming department. She is currently attending Delgado Community College and is enrolled in the veterinarian technician program. She has two rescues that she adopted from Causeway one, a girl named Roxy and a boy named Toby. Katie has always had a love for animals and really enjoys working with the pets that come in, also she really likes talking to the clients and saying hello to the dogs and calling them by their names just lights up the owners face.
Michele is a native of Kenner, Louisiana. She is married to Tony and lives in St. Tammany Parish with five dogs and four horses. When growing up, she had a great love for all animals. When she was small, her first animal was a German Shepard named Kelly. She got her first horse for Christmas when she was 10 years old. After school her days were spent taking care of her horse, Smokey. She realized it was a big responsibility taking care of a horse, but she loved it anyway! She also used to show Great Danes at dog shows. She was taught how to show them and also how to groom them and take care of them. After having other job positions and knowing how much she enjoyed watching animals being groomed, she decided to become a groomer. She completed her grooming course in 1994 and has been grooming ever since.
Laura is a native of New Orleans. She began her career at Causeway Animal Hospital approximately 9 years ago in the kennel area. After just a couple of years, she started working as a grooming assistant. After Hurricane Katrina, she became a full time groomer. Laura was recently promoted to Kennel Manager.
Outside of work she is showing and breeding Weimaraners. Laura began showing dogs about 7 years ago when she started showing her own Poodle, then shortly after, her friend's dogs. She enjoyed this so much that about one year later her parents surprised her at Christmas time with a show quality, eight week old Weimaraner puppy. Laura successfully trained "Mason" into an AKC champion, and is now training his 15 month old daughter, "Mia".
