    Mary Alice Shannon

    Mary Alice Shannon joined the Causeway Animal Hospital family in January 1995, after leaving the human side of medicine to work with animals. Her duties include managing all areas of the practice.  She has always had a passion for animals since she was a child and she always had a family dog.
    Mary Alice was born in Baton Rouge, but has been native to the New Orleans area since 1960. She has had the opportunity to live in several states and countries because her father was a dentist in the U.S. Army. She is a graduate of Riverdale High School and attended Phillips Junior College where she received her degree.
    Mary Alice lives in Metairie with her husband of 38 years Wayne and four children: Kelley, Robin, Timothy, and Jamie. They have three grandchildren, Julia, Jenna and Evelyn.  Belle a stray kitty roaming her neighborhod jumped on her husbands lap one afternoon and became part of their family. She also has a new addition to the family a Lab Mix Rockie that her youngest daughter adopted from the LASPCA, and Who Dat a sweet kitty her son adopted from Georgia after Hurricane Katrina.

    Jacquelyn S. Zainey

    Jackie began working at Causeway Animal Hospital as a part-time receptionist 34 years ago and says she has stayed "because of the wonderful philosophy of the doctors and staff to provide the best of care for the animals". Besides working in Reception, Jackie has also worked as a kennel attendant, lab technician, surgery technician and presently as Assistant Hospital Manager.
    Jackie received her degree in Speech Pathology with a double minor in education and psychology. After providing speech therapy in the public school system for a brief period, she returned to her first love-animals.
    Jackie shares her life with her husband of 40 years, Bob, and her cats,  Zippy and Studley, (a little male that was stuck in a wall as a kitten-hence the name!).
