Katherine Marcus, DVM, Associate Veterinarian

DVM, Louisiana State University

Biography

A Southern California native, Dr. Marcus received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Puget Sound before attending Louisiana State University for her veterinary degree. Dr. Marcus spent a year as an intern at Alamo Pintado Equine Medical center doing intensive medical and surgical training before practicing ambulatory equine medicine and surgery in Los Angles. In 2007, Dr. Marcus focused solely on small animal veterinary medicine, and joined VCA in early 2012.

In the spring of 2012, Dr. Marcus completed her Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist training following an intensive 6-month course through the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society. The course curriculum integrated the scientific basis and application of acupuncture with the fundamentals and applications of traditional Chinese medicine. This certification allows Dr. Marcus to practice truly integrative medicine, using both traditional Western medical diagnostics and treatments with traditional Chinese medicine theory and acupuncture.
