    Daniel Carpenter

    Dan joined the VCA Brookline Team as a Certified Veterinary Technician in February of 2016. Dan had over three years of technical experience. He has a history in wildlife rescue and volunteering at several zoos. He served in AmeriCorps NCCC on the west coast from 2009-2010. He graduated from Wheaton College in Norton, MA in 2009 with a B.A. in psychobiology, focusing on animal behavior. Dan loves animals and has two cats.

    Abbie Davenport, CVT
    Veterinary Tech School: Mount Ida

    Abbie started with us a student intern in 2012, completing two rotations at our busy hospital. After graduation from Mt. Ida College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Veterinary Technology, she came onto our staff full-time. Abbie took and passed the Veterinary Technician National Exam in 2013, and is a Certified Veterinary Technician in the state of Massachusetts.  She is a skilled surgery technician and takes a special interest in anesthesia. In her free time, she enjoys music, travel and spending time with her family. Abbie lives locally with her fiancé, and her rabbit, Madball.

    Ashley Kraft, CVT
    Veterinary Tech School: Becker College
    School: Becker College, BS

    Ashley has been an integral member of the team at VCA Brookline Animal Hospital since 2010. She graduated from Becker College with dual Bachelor's degrees in pre-veterinary medicine and clinical veterinary science. She also has her associate's degree as a veterinary technician. She lives locally with her fiancee and cares for her family dog Brownie, a therapy and search and rescue dog. Ashley currently volunteers with a local emergency response team. She has a special interest in internal medicine and is always enhancing her technical skills.

    Todd Bonito
    School: Oral Roberts University, BS

    Todd Bonitto graduated from Oral Roberts University in 1997 with a Bachelor's in Biology. He began his career in the field of veterinary medicine as a veterinary technician at VCA Rotherwood Animal Hospital in 1998 and transferred to VCA Brookline Animal Hospital in the Fall of 2015.  He also worked as a volunteer day captain in the Rescue and Rehabilitation department of the New England Aquarium for 5 years.  Todd also serves the Newton community as the Animal Inspector for the city. He is married with 3 beautiful children and a little 4 pound Chihuahua mix named "Gizmo"!

    Jen Buhler
    School: Roxbury Community College, Veterinary Assistant Certificate

    Jen joined the VCA Brookline team in 2014 after receiving her Veterinary Assistant Certificate from Roxbury Community College. After 8 years as a general manager at a Boston pet care company, Jen began her hospital career in 2012. She also has her Associates Degree in Art and Graphic Design.  In her spare time enjoys going to concerts, traveling, and being outdoors. She lives in Sharon, MA with her infant daughter, Adelaide, her dachshund Weinie, and cat Rayzin. Jen is looking forward to furthering her education and becoming a CVT.

    Christian Girod
    School: Roxbury Community College, Certified Veterinary Assistant

    After obtaining his Veterinary Assistant Certificate, Christian started as a kennel attendant in the busy boarding department at the VCA Brookline Animal Hospital, and soon became a trusted Technician Assistant, diligently keeping the appointments and doctors on schedule. His technical skills and competency had him working shifts with all of the surgery technicians on a daily basis, and his well-rounded skills are greatly appreciated by the staff. Christian enjoys DJing on the weekends, promoting parties, and lives locally enjoying the Boston nightlife. Christian's favorite part of his job is learning new skills every day.

    Amanda Hill
    Veterinary Tech School: Mount Ida

    Amanda came to VCA Brookline Animal Hospital as an intern in June 2014 and was hired after completion of her internship.  She graduated from Mount Ida with a Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Technology and is working on becoming a CVT.  Amanda has traveled to Belize where she volunteered at a free spay and neuter clinic for the local community, worked with large animals on farms in Belize as well as worked with exotics including iguanas and toucans. Amanda also played four years of college soccer. She lives locally with her dogs, Pierce and Rex, and her cat- Tigger.. In her free time she enjoys staying active, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.

    Courtney Dixon
    School: Northeastern University

    Courtney joined the VCA Brookline Animal Hospital team in July of 2015 as a co-op student through Northeastern University. She is currently studying for her bachelors in Biology and will graduate in 2018. Courtney is from Maine where her two beloved golden retrievers, Skye and Wynnston, still live with her parents and can enjoy the woods, fresh air and snow. In her free time, Courtney enjoys skiing and traveling. She plans to further her education and study veterinary medicine after graduation from Northeastern University.

    Max Grebe
    School: Roxbury Community College, Certified Veterinary Assistant

    Max joined the VCA Brookline Animal Hospital in 2013. He has a Veterinary Assistant Certificate from Roxbury Community College. He spends time working as both a kennel attendant and a Technician Assistant and has a range of skills to help in different areas of the hospital. In his free time, Max plays the guitar at different venues in the Boston area, and lives locally with his four dogs, Avien, Daisy, Lucy, and Rudy.

    Jessi Jaffe
    School: Salem State College, BA

    Jessi joined the team at VCA Brookline Animal Hospital in May of 2010. A certified pharmacy technician, she rediscovered her love of animals when her Newfoundland, Xander, and Border Collie, Boo, entered her life. Jessi brought with her an extensive customer service background and a strong willingness and desire to learn. She lives locally with her husband and their two furry "kids". Her hobbies include Live-Action Roleplaying, costume and mask-making, and volunteering for a dog rescue.

    Kailey Miller

    Kailey began working with the VCA Brookline team in January 2016 while still a student at Boston University. After graduating with honors and receiving a BA in Bioanthropology, Kailey became a full-time team member. Kailey enjoys hiking and spending time with the best greyhound in the world, Madison, who is in training to become a therapy dog for local hospitals.


  • Veterinary Assistant

    Lauren Murray

    Lauren came to the VCA Brookline Animal Hospital team in April, 2011. She has had a lifelong love of animals and spends her free time tracking the habits of wild turtles. She can be found in almost any role at the hospital and goes wherever needed, whether it’s as a receptionist, a technician or a kennel attendant.

    She lives locally with her dog, Toby, and many reptiles.

    Laura Rottenberk
    School: NorthEastern University

    Laura Rottenberk just graduated from Northeastern University with a bachelors in Biology. She started working at VCA Brookline in July 2015 as a co-op student through Northeastern University. After finishing her co-op, Laura continued to work in the hospital part time and plans to returned to full-time hours once she graduated. Laura previously worked at Sterling Impression Animal Rehabilitation Center of New England where she worked with animals recovering from surgeries, congenital diseases, and aging. In Laura's free time she loves to explore Boston, travel, and be outdoors. Laura has a pit-bull mix, Hunter, back home in upstate New York and she misses him.

    Amanda Saker

    Amanda is a kennel attendant and tech assistant. She started interning at VCA Brookline in high school and officially joined the team in the summer of 2012.  Amanda is currently pursuing a degree in illustration and is continuing to take classes in the animal sciences.  She loves working with animals, whether it be learning about them in the medical field or spending extra time with your pet in boarding.  Amanda lives locally with her dog, Amber.
