“I have always loved animals. After high school I didn’t know what I wanted to do, but I knew I loved animals so I went to tech school and realized how much I love this field and what I do. Although there are sad cases, when we get to send a pet home that was hospitalized and is doing better, that makes it all worth it.”

"I started the vet tech experience rather late in life: at 45 years old.  Before that I worked as a freelance/graphic artist.  In addition to art, I always had an interest in science, especially biology.  Nursing my husband's horse through a bout of Potomac Horse Fever, and losing a beloved dog to cancer made me realize how much I actually enjoyed taking care of sick and injured animals...even though it can be stressful and sad.  After graduating from the YTI Veterinary Technician Program and becoming a CVT, I started employment with VCA Bridgeport. The staff is wonderful to work with, and it feels good to help owners with their pets medical care. In my spare time, I enjoy hanging out with my husband, daughter, three dogs, a cat and two horses."
