My name is Marianela. I was born Cuba and grew up in Miami where I worked as a veterinary assistant for a year before I was accepted to Veterinary School at The University of the West Indies in Trinidad. I graduated in June 2014 with my DVM and I am currently working towards getting my US accreditation as a Veterinarian. In the meantime, I truly enjoy working as a veterinary technician and learning from my peers. I strive to offer the best medical care for our patients and firmly believe that it all starts with effective client communication. All of my pets have been either rescued or bred by my husband who trains them and competes with them on a national and international level.

My name is Julia and I am a Veterinary Technician here at VCA Briarcliff! I have lived in Jacksonville for almost 12 years but I was born and raised in Russia, Kyrgyzstan to be exact. Growing up I was always passionate about all kinds of animals and I have had several pets throughout my life. As a little girl, I would bring sick or abandoned puppies and kitties home or try to nurse sick birds back to health. I graduated from Sandlewood High School in 2005 then went to Florida State College of Jacksonville to get a degree in Nursing. Two years down the road I realized it wasn't something I wanted to do. From there I continued my education in Veterinary Technology and graduated from Sanford-Brown College in 2014. I have two beautiful babies of my own, My first one has four legs, a tail and his name is Koko. He is a Cocker Spaniel. My second baby is a beautiful year and a half old boy named Kai. I enjoy working with our two great Veterinarians here at VCA Briarcliff and I learn so much from them everyday as well as every team member at our Hospital. I enjoy working with animals and love waking up each morning knowing that I might change or even save someone's pets life.
