Dear Friends:

We have reached a milestone!! G.R.E.A.T. Rescue of NE Florida, Inc. is over 10 years old a full decade of saving Golden Retrievers on the First Coast!! It hardly seems possible that this wonderful Rescue that started out by rescuing its first dog Luke, from a local shelter, has now reached the 620th rescue!! It truly is amazing that we have come so far in such a short while but, then again, it really isn't! You see, we have the best group of medical personal, volunteers, fosters, donors, and transporters all coming together to make it happen. It goes without saying; VCA Briarcliff has been a major part of saving so many beautiful Goldens and helping to make GREAT the great Rescue it has become!

We've met many challenges due to the downward spiral in the economy. Many Goldens brought into GREAT have multiple medical problems due to the family's inability to fund Veterinary costs. The loss of homes, jobs, divorce, and a new baby on the way are just some of the reasons for surrendering a beloved family friend. Goldens have been left behind when the owners moved away, dumped on the side of the road or just neglected for far too long. Some have lost most their fur, suffer from thyroid issues, epilepsy, hip dysplasia, ear infections and more. The stories are heartbreaking and often heartless but GREAT is here to restore them to the wonderful dogs they were always meant to be.

Thanks to you for partnering with G.R.E.A.T. over the past eight years, our task is even easier. We pride ourselves on being a full service Rescue which means we do all that we can to make these beautiful Golden Retrievers the amazing, healthy and happy-go-lucky dogs they were destined to be. Thanks to your very generous donation of $771.50, our bottom line is stronger and our resources can stretch farther. You are the GREATest!

Again, many thanks for your generosity and being SO kind! We appreciate it.
