Biography

Dr. Sonja received a BS in Animal Science and a Doctor or Veterinary Medicine from NCSU. After graduation from veterinary school, she spent a year of intensive training at Washington State University. Following this, she taught surgery and completed a small animal surgery residency at NCSU. During the four year surgical residency/teaching, she obtained her Masters degree. In 2004, she was awarded entrance into the American College of Veterinary Surgeons after completing a rigorous exam.

Dr. Sonja performs soft tissue (general) surgery, orthopedic surgery and neurologic surgery. Her main interests lie in minimally invasive surgery, wound management and fractures.

Dr. Sonja lives in Cary NC with her husband and 3 lovely girls. Their golden retriever, Bailey, keeps them entertained and also pesters their two cats, Puff and Cutie Pie Cow.
