Dr. Gibson grew up in San Diego and has been working in the veterinary field, starting as a kennel aid when he was 18 years old. He received a BS in Biology from San Diego State University, pursued studies in Wildlife Management at Sacramento State University and studied Veterinary Science in Liverpool, England, before returning to the US to pursue his lifelong dream of becoming a veterinarian.
Dr. Gibson graduated from Oklahoma State University in 1998 and immediately returned to San Diego to start practicing veterinary medicine. He has now worked for three VCA hospitals over the course of 10 years.
Dr. Gibson has a special love for cats earning him the title "The Cat Doctor," from his coworkers. He is especially fond of black and white "tuxedo" cats. His interests include: Feline internal medicine, veterinary dentistry, preventative medicine, geriatric pet care, and spaying and neutering feral cats for population control.
His hobbies include hiking, trailer camping, riding ATVs in the desert, building musical instruments (ukuleles), playing acoustic guitar as well as teaching guitar to his many nieces and nephews.
Dr. Gibson shares a horse (Xena), a Great Pyrenees dog (Chloe), a tuxedo cat (Plumeria) and lots of fish (mainly guppies) with his wife and two boys.
