    Mona McKechan

My name is Mona and I was born in New York.  I lived in the Poconos for most of my life before moving to Boca Raton 12 years ago to be closer to my family.  I'm the proud mother of two children.  Adam, who is 20 years old, and a student at FAU and Aaliyah, who is 12 years old, getting ready for the 8th grade.  When I'm not working I can be found either playing tennis, working out at the gym or going shopping.  I have 3 cats Doc, Wilson and Nina who mean the world to me.

    Why I come to work

Ever since childhood I've had a passion for animals and always told my dad I wanted to grow up and do something that allowed me to get up everyday, go to work and be able to help those that are sick get better while throwing in some tender loving care at the same time.  Being at VCA I get to do all that and then some.  I love this line of work and all the excitement and challenges that each day brings.  Helping animals is my dream and VCA helps me fulfill it!

    Kirsten Rossi

Hello there! My name is Kirsten and I am a native Floridian from Boca Raton! I am currently at Florida Atlantic University enrolled full-time, pursuing a degree in Biology/Pre-Veterinary Medicine. I live with my family which includes my mother, Jude, older sister, Alexis, and our pets! We have three dogs (Nikolai, Denali, and Jake) and two chinchillas (Aristotle and Socrates). We also have a draft horse named Koda! Being a native Floridian I love the water and being outside. I enjoy fishing, snorkeling, and paddle boarding. When I’m not in or on the water, I take horseback riding lessons, karaoke with friends, and I like to visit my father and grandparents in Gainesville, Fl. See you soon!!

Why I love coming to work everyday

Why do I absolutely love being a veterinary technician? I get to smile every time I come to “work”. I started this path as something to do over the summer while off from school and it changed my life. I have always loved animals (both big and small) but then I fell in love with the medicine. I enjoy learning and this career is ever growing and changing offering a lot of opportunities to do so. I love being the advocate for our furry friends and knowing I will do all I can to help them. There have always been pets in the house, in fact, “Buddy”, a Golden Retriever, and “Notaku”, a Newfoundland, were in the family before me! They have since past; currently my family and I have “Nikolai”, an Alaskan Malamute, “Denali”, a Siberian Husky, and “Jake”, a Border Collie mix, we also have “Koda”, an American Spotted Draft horse and two chinchillas, Aristotle and Socrates. That being said, I guess the love of animals is innate and I am so happy it is.
