Why I do what I do.
I have always loved animals since day 1. The compassion and love that they give is unconditional. Working with pets day in and day out has always been a dream of mine. A lot of the patients that I have come to know since they were puppies/kittens. They are a huge part of my life. They are like my own. I could never fathom my life without being around animals. I have 5 cats (Tigger, Eeyore, Roo, Kanga and Piglet) and 2 dachshunds (Daisy Mae and Jack Frost). My husband and I have 2 wonderful kids who enjoys the love of their pets."
Bill has lived in South Florida for nearly 30 years, having worked as part of the management teams in a variety of “Human” Healthcare settings in South Florida and the Midwest for over 40 years. Now semi-retired, he was seeking a place that he could still enjoy interacting with patients and clients within a healthcare environment. As a loving pet lover since the age of 10 (not counting the goldfish and turtles he cared for earlier!), he’s owned both multiple cats and dogs most of his life. He has two children and he’s passed his love of sharing one’s life with animals on to them and they now own two dogs of their own between them. He enjoys the outdoors and travel (Especially enjoys cruises!) with friends and family, and is quite the gardener and handyman - he’s even helped us with minor repairs around our hospital! Why I come to work everyday
I have observed and have been a part of care-giving since I was a child and used to spend summers with my cousin who had severe cerebral palsy from birth. Coming into work here allows me to continue to see that level of care every time I step through the door: The joy of someone bringing in a new kitten or puppy...the attention to detail the staff and pet owners share in their wellness or sick visits and, yes, even in the sorrow when it comes to having to peacefully say goodbye to one of your "best friends". It's the "Circle of Life" I'm observing through loving owners and their pet companions-and the older I get-I can't think of a better way to spend a work day!
Jessica just recently moved to Florida last year, but is a Jersey girl at heart! She lived there for 21 years, and then moved to Arizona for six months, and now sunny South Florida. She has a 9 year old Rhodesian Ridgeback Mix named Roxie who was there with her through all her travels. Roxie is the highlight of everyday for Jessica! In her spare time, Jessica loves to be outside riding her bike, walking Roxie, or just enjoying the weather.
Why I come to work everyday
I have always been drawn to animals of all kinds. Being around them all the time and making sure they get the best care is what I enjoy. Seeing them reunite with their parents whether it’s after a groom or surgery is always the best part of the day. I have four legged kids of my own and wouldn’t trade them for the world!
I was born in West Virginia and raised in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. I’ve been living in Kenya, Africa for the past 4 years and just recently returned to South Florida. I currently own a hamster named, Marcus, and a 30 gallon fresh water fish tank. However, I love all types of animals and species. In my spare time I enjoy going to the beach and relaxing by the pool.
Why I Come to Work Everyday
Animals & nature have always been my passions. I’ve been fascinated by both for as long as I can remember. After retirement I continued my education, obtaining diplomas in Wildlife & Forestry Conservation and Veterinary Assisting. My passion has lead me across the world. I am blessed to have worked in Kenya, Africa for 4 years assisting in efforts against African elephant poaching & programs advocating conservation education. Why…? Because it’s what I love to do! I enjoy helping pets & their human companions in any way I possibly can.
