• Hospital Manager

    Kristen Ashton
School: Lindenwood University, St. Charles MO, Physchology

Kristen was born and raised in Missouri until 2010 when she, her husband and their dogs drove all the way to Washington. It was well worth the drive since they love it here in the beautiful Pacific Northwest! She studied psychology at Lindenwood University in St. Charles, MO. During college she worked at a pet retail store, as a groom technician, at the St. Louis Zoo and finally found the perfect job working in a veterinary office. She joined the VCA family in 2002 as a Client Service Representative at VCA Cloud Animal Hospital in O'Fallon, MO. When she moved to Washington she transferred to the VCA Silver Lake in Everett and after about a year, she joined the VCA Bellevue team as Hospital Manager. She loves the team here at VCA Bellevue and really enjoys creating relationships with clients and their pets. In her spare time Kristen gives lots of attention to her four-legged children, Dee the 12 year old English Pointer that you might see hanging out behind the front desk and Norris, the 10 year-old Labrador mix. If her husband didn't have allergies, she would certainly have cats at home also. Kristen and her husband enjoy hiking and sight-seeing all around the area, working in as many microbreweries and fun foodie stops as they can along the way. Kristen's favorite quote: In this particular line of work.... "Wag more, bark less."

  • Facilities Manager

    Steve Bellevue

Steve has lived in the Penthouse Suite in the comfy VCA Bellevue cat condos since 2011. He was surrendered by his owners because of difficulty managing his seizures. Through consistent medication and care, Steve has had very few episodes here. Steve spends most of his free time sunning under the skylight from the top level of his cat tree.  He also enjoys playing with his toys (as long as no one is watching).Steve has spent many years studying the art of time telling. In fact, if you happen to be at VCA Bellevue Veterinary Hospital any evening you are likely to hear his dinner requests echoing through the halls. Steve is also practices many excellent techniques to help the team members relax such as purring, eye gazing, and endless affection. He manages the condo facilities and keeps a watchful eye on the team out of his window. As most cats do, Steve thinks that all of the team members at VCA Bellevue are his pets and servants. Steve's favorite quote: "I have studied many philosophers and many cats. The wisdom of cats is infinitely superior." - Hippolyte Taine
