  • Beloved Cat, Tammy

    -Sharon Bakaian from Detroit, MI
    Pet Name: Tammy

Pet Image This is an addendum to my testimonial of 2 years ago regarding my dear cat, Tammy.

Tammy succumbed to heart disease on October 17, 2011. She was my beloved friend and constant companion. I feel such profound sadness at her loss. She was such a blessing to me.

Tammy's heart doctor gave her 3-6 months to live when she went into cardiac arrest in the summer of 2009. This was because she had multiple health issues, including diabetes. Instead, she enjoyed 2 more years of good health under the care of Dr. Crisp, for which I will be forever grateful.

I still have 4 other cats, which include Tammy's mother and two brothers, all under the care of Dr. Crisp. I look forward to having a continued fine relationship with the staff at VCA Beech Road Animal Hospital.

    Pet Name: Tiffany

I have been taking my dogs to Dr. Anderson for 10+ years. She is a wonderful vet whom I trust with my very precious Tiffany. Dr. Anderson truly cares about her animal patients. She takes the time to try to help the animal she is treating feel at ease. Dr. Anderson is awesome!

  • Bella Pearl and Rudy recent visit

    -Debbie from Livonia, MI
Pet Name: Bella Pearl and Rudy

I have been unemployed for one year now and was not sure if I could bring my kitties in for their yearly examination. I was treated very graciously and was informed that we could come in for an exam very reasonably priced. Dr. Anderson did a very thorough examination and treated Bella Pearl with loving kindness and released her anal gland. I want to tell you she is now a different kitty, she is more interested in everything that is going on around her and with Rudy she is much better tempered. I can not explain in these short words how extremely joyous I am. Rudy was adopted from the Beech Road Hospital and he is just a loving big boy! Thank you all very much I am truly very grateful and full of appreciation for you.

    -Sharon Bakaian from Detroit, MI
    Pet Name: Tammy

Many thanks to the entire staff at VCA Beech Road for the expert care given to my cat, Tammy, as well as other cats I have brought in for care. I am especially grateful to Dr. Crisp.

I have adopted and raised 16 stray cats, and rescued and found homes for many more. I have 6 left who are precious to me. Dr. Crisp is now their doctor due to the fact that she saved Tammy's life - TWICE.

My Tammy is diabetic and has congestive heart disease. Last July she went into a coma and almost died. I was rushing her to the ER of the "specialty hospital" when I realized we may not get there in time. I stopped at VCA Beech Road and ran inside screaming for help. The staff rushed out to my car, grabbed Tammy, and Dr. Crisp took over. She quickly and with confidence prepared Tammy for the trip to the hospital, where she was in intensive care for 10 days. I know she would have died had it not been for Dr. Crisp.

She was still very ill when she came home. The biggest threat to her life at that point was that she would not eat. She was given an appetite stimulant that did not help. After weeks of force-feeding her with syringes, she just could not get enough calories to sustain her weight. She lost weight and was failing.

Heartbroken, but determined not to lose her, I took her to Dr. Crisp and she put Tammy on another medication. Tammy has gained her weight back, eats like a horse, and is doing extremely well (and so am I)!

Dr. Crisp is very knowledgeable, professional, friendly, and has given me much good advice.

  • Extraordinary Care

    -Andrew from Bloomfield Hills, MI
    Pet Name: Mr P

I would like to thank Doctors and Staff of VCA Beech Road Hospital for their extraordinary care that they show every time I bring to them animals that need veterinary attention. As an animal rescuer I am familiar with many veterinary clinics, but I choose VCA Beech Road because their Doctors and Staff adhere to the highest professional standards in the industry.
I would also like to thank Dr. Anderson, Dr. Crisp, Dr. Pratt and Ms. Otsuki for their caring above and beyond duty when I recently dealt with the illness and death of my beloved cat, Mr. P. Knowing that he got the best care possible made this difficult time less traumatic. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
