Psycho Kitty

-Mindy from Alexandria, VA
Pet Name: Fritzie

Fritzie (my cat), is a challenge. He does not socialize with anyone very well--with the exception of me--and all of my friends refer to Frizie as psycho cat. I have not had very good luck with vets. The last vet that I tried to take Fritzie to said that they would not see him unless he was sedated and even then they were unwilling to work with my schedule. The last time I took him in they required that I leave him there for an entire day for observation...needless to say that this did not go over very well with Fritzie. When I moved to a different part of Alexandria, I decided that I was going to find a new vet one that would work with me and wouldn't be so bothered by Fritzie's challenges. That is when I found Beacon Hill Cat Hospital. The first visit with Dr. Suska was interesting. Fritzie was his typical hissing, swatting and growling, self. But despite his challenges Dr. Suska remained patient and calm and even tried to examine him, but soon gave up after he peed on her. We then came up with a plan for the next visit. When I brought Fritzie back in she was just as eager to see Fritzie as she was the first time, even though he peed on her. Fritzie was quickly sedated and the examination and ensuing tests were all run quickly and professionally and Fritzie was back in his carrier and on his way home before he even knew what happened. I want to thank Dr. Suska and her team for being patient and caring despite his challenges. This was the first vet that I have gone to that hasn't made me feel like I was a bother. I have also received several calls from the staff to make sure that Fritzie was doing ok after his visit. For those of you out there who also have psycho kitties rest assured that there are vets out there who care and who will not treat your cat like a wild animal!

Hello fellow felines

-Faulkner from Alexandria, VA
Pet Name: Beau

I just wanted to meow a bit about VCA Beacon Hill Cat Hospital. I'm very satisfied with the way VCA meets my medical and social needs. Don't tell my owner, but it's nice to meet and greet other humans for a change. The staff is always so friendly-it breaks the monotony of only having one human to relate to. I've been visiting VCA for my medical needs for my entire lifetime and have them to thank for controlling my asthma, and managing my early stage kidney disease. Kudos to my owner and to the staff at VCA for a lifetime of good health! Even my Abby "siblings" Emma and Sophie are happy with their care, and you know how fussy they can be!
P.S. Your human will also enjoy the clean , friendly, and caring environment from the reception area to the exam room. Thumbs and toes up to VCA Beacon Hill Cat Hospital!

The Purrfect Treatment

-Carol Burke from Manassas Park, VA
Pet Name: Smokey

I have been taking my cats to VCA Beacon Hill Cat Hospital since 1994. When I moved from Alexandria, VA to Manassas Park, VA, I tried using a clinic closer to my home, but never got a warm fuzzy from the staff. I travel from Manassas Park to Alexandria (over 60 miles round trip) to have my cats seen at Beacon Hill because they CARE about cats and people too. They are very efficient and professional and are never too busy to answer any questions I have about my cat's health or treatment. Dr. Nancy Suska, Dr. Bazemore, Ms Tiffany, Ms Angela and Mr. George (just to name a few) are the greatest folks.

Thank you VCA Beacon Hill

To Whom It May Concern:

My husband and I have taken our succession of cats to Dr. Nancy Suska and her staff at VCA Beacon Hill Hospital for at least 15 years. This hospital is 10 miles from our home and while there are others much closer, we continue to do so because of the excellent care that is given our cats whether they are receiving medical attention or just boarding. Their hospital standards are of the highest quality, and our cats are consistently treated with love, respect and genuine compassion. We also commend Dr. Suska and staff on the quality of diagnostics as well as treatments provided at the hospital. We highly recommend VCA Beacon Hill Hospital to any pet parent seeking the best quality treatment for their cats.

The Best Cat Care and Service in NOVA

-Ann M. from Reston, VA

Dr. Suska and Beacon Hill Cat Hospital have been caring for my cats since I moved to the area in 1999. Recently, when I moved from Alexandria to Reston, I changed my personal physician, but not my cats' physician because of the excellent, caring medical staff at Beacon Hill. I now drive an hour (one-way) for my cats to continue to see Dr. Suska and the staff at the hospital. Nothing but the best for my spoiled felines! Dr. Suska (literally) saved the life of my beloved Maine Coon, Sumo. Getting his struvite crystals condition under control and researching and recommending a vet who had experience with the specialized surgery Sumo required to live. Sadly, Sumo died a year later from an unrelated medical problem, and the doctors and staff mourned with me; even mailing a lovely condolence card to me. My other two cats, Orca and Kismet benefit from the excellent care they receive at Beacon Hill Cat Hospital, where pets and their staff (owners) are treated as individuals; you receive the time and attention you need to manage your cat's health. Whether it is a five minute claw clip and weight check, or a detailed health exam, the doctors and staff at VCA Beacan Hill Cat Hospital provide top-notch healthcare. I unconditionally trust the doctors and staff at Beacon Hill Cat Hospital to take care of my cats.

Awesome Care

-Stephanie from Alexandria, VA
Pet Name: Rambo and Drogo

Both our cats have been treated wonderfully by the staff. One cat is pretty easy at the vet, but the other cat is a bit of a terror. He hides, hisses, cries like the big scaredy cat that he is, and sometimes tries to bite, but the staff is always patient and gentle with him and treat him amazingly well. I'm so glad to have a great place to bring my cats to!

Peace of mind after the derecho

-Pate McCullough from Alexandria, VA
Pet Name: Dixie Trippycat

Last Friday night, along with most of the metro DC area, my home lost power. To add insult to injury, my a/c had been on the fritz for a week so my home went from warm to blazing hot in no time. The staff at VCA Beacon Hill took my cat in to board without hesitation. The only peace of mind I had all weekend, was knowing that my Dixie Trippycat was cool, comfortable and well cared for. My thanks to Dr Suska, Angela and the whole staff for looking out for the Trippycat.

My Exceptional Care with Seamus

-John Wallace from Alexandria, VA
Pet Name: Seamus

Dearest VCA,

I appreciate the opportunity to express my thoughts on this hospital and the personalities behind this incredible facility.

From the moment I stepped foot through these doors, when Tiffany first greeted me, I knew I was in a special place. How could I know just how incredible the people here would be?!

As with all organizations, the tenor, the quality starts at the top and trickles down. Here, Dr. Suska sets the tone. Her staff, Tiffany, Debbie, Dawn and Gina, reflects Dr. Suska’s “way.”
My cat Seamus had been misdiagnosed by another hospital and had been given 2 weeks to live. We came here not knowing what to expect. I thought I was going to lose him. Dr. Suska took four x-rays of his lower abdomen where a mass had emerged. She, with the help of her “angels,” Debbie and Dawn, reversed the initial diagnosis and gave Seamus a new lease on life. Calls were made and a subsequent operation was performed and the mass removed.

Seamus knows love when he sees it and he has, from the start, been totally comfortable and happy in Dr. Suska’s, Tiffany’s, Debbie’s, Dawn’s and Gina’s, incredible hands. He/we think these people “walk on water.” The level of care here on a scale of 1 to 10 is 2 million!

Seamus’ follow up care has been nothing short of spectacular, with all the love and professionalism given to him.

God can rest easy knowing Dr. Suska and her staff are here at VCA Beacon Hill Cat Hospital.
