  • A wonderful place to bring a beloved feline

    -Bruce from Alexandria, VA

My wife and I first brought our beloved American Shorthair, Nel, to VCA Beacon Hill because Dawn had relocated there, and she had taken superb care of him during repeat visits to another VCA nearer our home. We could not get over how nice it was to be at a cat only facility. The atmosphere is calmer, the support staff are extremely helpful and polite (Kudos to Gina, Debbie and Carrie) and the attention Nel receives from all of the staff, including the wonderful vets, is amazing! After interacting with Drs. Suska and Bazemore, we knew that they had Nel and all of their clients best interests at heart, and are always willing to work with us to customize the best care plan for Nel. We cannot recommend them highly enough, and encourage all cat owners in need of a superb Cat specific veterinary clinic to give the superb care team at VCA Beacon Hill a try. We are confident you will not be disappointed!

  • Restored My Hope

    -Erin Kelly from Alexandria, VA
    Pet Name: Smudge

When I first brought Smudge in with a nasty, chronic sinus infections, I was afraid he was a goner. Dr. Suska restored hope by coming up with a care plan that was both easy to live with and easy on the wallet.

Smudge has made a complete recovery and we're looking forward to at least a few more years together!

  • My Exceptional Care with Seamus

    -John Wallace from Alexandria, VA
    Pet Name: Seamus

    Dearest VCA,

I appreciate the opportunity to express my thoughts on this hospital and the personalities behind this incredible facility.

From the moment I stepped foot through these doors, when Tiffany first greeted me, I knew I was in a special place. How could I know just how incredible the people here would be?!

As with all organizations, the tenor, the quality starts at the top and trickles down. Here, Dr. Suska sets the tone. Her staff, Tiffany, Debbie, Dawn and Gina, reflects Dr. Suska’s “way.”
My cat Seamus had been misdiagnosed by another hospital and had been given 2 weeks to live. We came here not knowing what to expect. I thought I was going to lose him. Dr. Suska took four x-rays of his lower abdomen where a mass had emerged. She, with the help of her “angels,” Debbie and Dawn, reversed the initial diagnosis and gave Seamus a new lease on life. Calls were made and a subsequent operation was performed and the mass removed.

Seamus knows love when he sees it and he has, from the start, been totally comfortable and happy in Dr. Suska’s, Tiffany’s, Debbie’s, Dawn’s and Gina’s, incredible hands. He/we think these people “walk on water.” The level of care here on a scale of 1 to 10 is 2 million!

Seamus’ follow up care has been nothing short of spectacular, with all the love and professionalism given to him.

God can rest easy knowing Dr. Suska and her staff are here at VCA Beacon Hill Cat Hospital.

  • The Best Cat Care and Service in NOVA

    -Ann M. from Reston, VA

Dr. Suska and Beacon Hill Cat Hospital have been caring for my cats since I moved to the area in 1999. Recently, when I moved from Alexandria to Reston, I changed my personal physician, but not my cats' physician because of the excellent, caring medical staff at Beacon Hill. I now drive an hour (one-way) for my cats to continue to see Dr. Suska and the staff at the hospital. Nothing but the best for my spoiled felines! Dr. Suska (literally) saved the life of my beloved Maine Coon, Sumo. Getting his struvite crystals condition under control and researching and recommending a vet who had experience with the specialized surgery Sumo required to live. Sadly, Sumo died a year later from an unrelated medical problem, and the doctors and staff mourned with me; even mailing a lovely condolence card to me. My other two cats, Orca and Kismet benefit from the excellent care they receive at Beacon Hill Cat Hospital, where pets and their staff (owners) are treated as individuals; you receive the time and attention you need to manage your cat's health. Whether it is a five minute claw clip and weight check, or a detailed health exam, the doctors and staff at VCA Beacan Hill Cat Hospital provide top-notch healthcare. I unconditionally trust the doctors and staff at Beacon Hill Cat Hospital to take care of my cats.

  • Exceptional Care for Ticker and Chessie

    -Donna from Alexandria, VA

We have been utilizing VCA Beacon Hill Cat Hospital as the primary health care provider for cats we have owned for the better part of 30 years.

The staff is caring, not just about the cats, but about the owners too. They take the time to explain procedures, the administration of take-home medications, required dietary purchases, and the necessity of making follow-up appointments after my cats specialty/emergency visits to other veterinarians within the Northern Virginia area.

Before any service or procedure, medication, or dietary change is recommended for our cats, we are told why the suggestion is being offered. Nothing is forced on us. We have made the decision based on our finances and what is in the best interest of the cat in need.

Chuck and I have the highest regard for Dr. Nancy Suska. She has embraced a standard of care, coupled with a compassion for the healing of the cats entrusted to her that puts far too many “human” doctors to shame. When we make the decision to have our beloved elderly cat, Smokey, euthanized in 2010, she too cried with us.

  • Exclusively A Cat Hospital

    -Myra Diaz from Alexandria, VA

My experience with VCA was pretty fantastic. The appointment was prompt (as in that very day), the staff was incredibly helpful and kind, and Dr. Suska was knowledgeable and supportive. I love, love, love that this is exclusively a cat hospital because it made me feel like the focus was 100% on my cat. I will definitely return!

  • Peace of mind after the derecho

    -Pate McCullough from Alexandria, VA
    Pet Name: Dixie Trippycat

Last Friday night, along with most of the metro DC area, my home lost power. To add insult to injury, my a/c had been on the fritz for a week so my home went from warm to blazing hot in no time. The staff at VCA Beacon Hill took my cat in to board without hesitation. The only peace of mind I had all weekend, was knowing that my Dixie Trippycat was cool, comfortable and well cared for. My thanks to Dr Suska, Angela and the whole staff for looking out for the Trippycat.

  • Awesome Care

    -Stephanie from Alexandria, VA
    Pet Name: Rambo and Drogo

Both our cats have been treated wonderfully by the staff. One cat is pretty easy at the vet, but the other cat is a bit of a terror. He hides, hisses, cries like the big scaredy cat that he is, and sometimes tries to bite, but the staff is always patient and gentle with him and treat him amazingly well. I'm so glad to have a great place to bring my cats to!

  • Thank you VCA Beacon Hill

-Pat and Dick Meyers from Alexandria, VA

    To Whom It May Concern:

My husband and I have taken our succession of cats to Dr. Nancy Suska and her staff at VCA Beacon Hill Hospital for at least 15 years. This hospital is 10 miles from our home and while there are others much closer, we continue to do so because of the excellent care that is given our cats whether they are receiving medical attention or just boarding. Their hospital standards are of the highest quality, and our cats are consistently treated with love, respect and genuine compassion. We also commend Dr. Suska and staff on the quality of diagnostics as well as treatments provided at the hospital. We highly recommend VCA Beacon Hill Hospital to any pet parent seeking the best quality treatment for their cats.
